    Craniosacral Therapist for Toddlers?

    Hi,
I am looking for a referral for a Craniosacral therapist for my DD, or failing that an osteopath or chiropractor who is good with toddlers. I would really appreciate any feedback that anyone has on their experiences good and bad with this type of therapy, and would love to find a good therapist.

Has anyone taken their toddler to see a craniosacral therapist?

What was it for and did it help?

Can anyone in Melbourne recommend a good therapist?

    Thanks in advance.

I have a good osteo in Hawthorn that does a lot of work with kids and toddlers, if you're interested.

    Thanks for your replies ladies,
Trish, I am in the Western suburbs so Ringwood is a long way away but I will keep him in mind as he sounds perfect, craniosacral work with chiropractic...

Tashybabe, your osteo sounds good too, can you pass on the details?

Janine Klein - Hurstbridge Osteopathy. Amazing results. All she does is craniosacral work on my girls. Some people find her personality a little abrasive, but she is a fantastic Osteo. A little hard to get into though. She wasn't taking new patients a while back, not sure if that has changed though....

More choices! Yipee! Thanks for the details Tashybabe and for the other suggestions olive and Falguni. They are definitely within cooee of my place!

I just wonder if any of you mind helping me with one other consideration...

DD had a bit of a trauma at her 18month check up with the MCHN who continued to assess her while DD was obviously distressed with the handling (head circumference, height etc) I tried to soothe her but she really did not like it at all. Ever since I have noticed that DD gets hysterical whenever she is put up on a treatment table. I'm dreading the 2 year check up in a few months as you can imagine!

Are any of the people you have suggested particularly sensitive to toddler's little quirks like this. I am thinking DD may need to be treated whilst on the floor or on my lap as she is unlikely to lie on a treatment table. I need to find someone who is understanding and not likely to get frustrated with her.

Our paediatric chiro would be so perfect for your DD, he is the kindest, gentlest, most understanding person I've met! He works out of Ivanhoe too, is that too far from you as well?

    Thanks Trish!
Ivanhoe is not too far at all, I didn't notice you mentioned that the first time round ! I just got stuck on the Ringwood and had visions of taking big long drives out to Ringwood with a toddler in the car!! Not my favourite daily past-time!

    Sounds perfect!
