What does your bub wear to bed?

I've always put Hayley in wondersuits for bedtime, but it's starting to get a bit warmer now in the evening, although it is still cool overnight. i put a wondersuit on her tonight but left her singlet off, I don't know what else to use..it's too cool still for a shirt/shorts as pj's but at the same time when she gets changed into her night time gear it's getting a bit warm for the wondersuits. If only they had short sleeved but long legged suits...or if they do I just can't find any!

What does your baby wear to bed in "changeable" seasons?

Tristan is a warm baby and wears bodysuits atm, but we also co-sleep most nights

I've just started trying the bonds longsuits and easysuits with long arms and legs but no feet...material is lighter...but she's still covered up...and then she has her 1.0 tog sleeping bag...so far no complaints

yeah what ellie said just get different (thinner) suits. or a singlet and leg warmers. Its an odd time of year for deciding what to put them in. DD is still in her flannette PJ's as she gets cold easy in this big house. When it warms up ill prob put her in a short sleeve no leg onsie as shes takes her nappy off all the time. Last summer, it was just singlets and nappy.

Jacob wears a wondersuit (no singlet) or a purebaby zip up onesie..
I will also get some easy suits soon or bonds stretchy one pieces.. they are better for warmer months
cotton on do good 2 pieces pjs when they are a little bigger.

Cut off the arms. Take a sissor and cut it off - not the baby's, the wondersuite And later the legs.

Atm my ds (10 months) sleeps in shorty pj's, but he is a little over-heater and gets hot very quicky. I'm sure the time will come when I only put him down in his diaper.

Emily wears a Bonds jumpsuit that doesn't have enclosed feet. It's a lot cooler material than a wondersuit.

I get the wondersuits that are cotton instead of the toweling now (Got mine from target, not bonds brand), a lot cooler, failing that it's a short sleeve bodysuit with cotton pants.

LOL had a giggle at that Nadine! I don't think DD would be too pleased with her new sleeping attire if I chopped her arms and legs off
I did think of cutting the arms off..but don't know if I can bring myself to chop up perfectly good wondersuits! I thought they might fray where they have been cut too??
I have a few cotton suits, they have long arms & legs so i thought they still might be a bit warm. I guess for the moment the sleeves can be folded up though.
thanks everyone She is still wrapped up, only with a light cotton wrap, but has a flannellette cot sheet and her little cot quilt over her as well. i just don't want her to be too warm, but don't want her to wake up because she is cold either! Just when i get used to doing something one way she changes or the weather changes or something happens so I have to change what I'm doing anyway!

It depends on the temp.
ATM most nights ds2 is in a singlet, wondersuit and grobag (2.5 or 1 depending on the temp)

ds has cotton pjs pants and top with socks and sometimes a singlet with only a blanket he hates being wrapped now

I guess it's a bit warmer up here... AR is wearing shortsleeved suits with no legs, she is wrapped in a muslin with a light rug tucked over the top.

I was saying to my sister the other day taht I have not seen any suits with short sleeves & long legs, yet there seem to be plenty with long sleeves & no legs? Seems weird to me

Yep that is so true Jasp! I find it frustrating that I can't find the clothes i would consider 'normal' for DD..i.e. onesies with short sleeves and long legs or short sleeves and short legs (they either have no sleeves or long legs or no legs). I think some of the combinations are a bit odd...definitely not what I would make!
Might have to start using a t-shirt and long pants, I have a few pairs that she can use for sleeping.

*snicker* yeah, I read that sentence and could not help myself.

I chopped off ds's wondersuite's feet when they got a bit too small for him. Then I sewed fleece cuffs on them, that way I could use them longer and save a few $$ It does not fit him at all now, but it can still donate it too someone. You just have too gets some socks on dem feet

DD2 just sleeps in whatever she is wearing that day, she is a dribbler, so we go through heaps of outfits a day! i tend to just dress her in cotton pants and a long sleeve top, she's wrapped in a blanket as well.

Anelise usually sleeps in one of the short sleeved and short legged suits with leggings on also, or she sleeps in one of the lighter long armed and long legged suits.

When my bub was three months old, she slept in

- cotton singlet or envelope neck tee (breathable and comfy)
- night nappy with MM windpro cover (so waterproof)
- baby legwarmers if needed e.g huggaluggs cotton ones (now you can get bamboo ones too)
- wrapped up in a muslin wrap
- on cotton sheets

when i checked on her, i would place my palm on her forehead, fingers and toes, to make sure she was an ok temperature. (that's what my midwife advised, how to check).

i did try polar fleece sleeping bags in winter and my baby sweated SO badly, within minutes of having it on, i had to ditch that idea.

i didn't know about all cotton baby sleeping bags back then, if i had, i would have bought a sleeveless cotton one for her to sleep in for summer. you can get the exxy grobag types or the cheapo bestnless/big w type.

i also didn't know about brollysheets back then. if i had another small baby, i would have a brollysheet on MY bed, so when we were feeding in bed, having a sleep together, any spills, the brollysheet would save me having to strip my bed each time. i got the brollysheets for toilet training stage, but now i think about it, they would have been useful from birth (but on MY bed).
