Sleep ins for a 2 year old ?

DD wakes around 4.30 - 5am every morning and its driving me nuts. When she was in her cot I could leave her in there and she'd go back to sleep but now that shes in a big bed she gets up and comes into our room. She was staying asleep until 5.30 which is still too early but I could deal with it to a degree.
How do I get her to asleep longer or stay in bed longer? I know it sounds like a silly question but I need outside help cos my brain is just not comprehending whats needed .
Shes not too hot or cold at that time either, I make sure that everything is temp controlled for the early mornings. I'm thinking maybe sunlight, but at 4.30am?

mmm tricky... my first child didnt move to a big bed until the day he turned 3yrs... up til then he has in the port cot... Maybe your dd needs the cot/portacot still??? Then she cant run into you and if you dont come straight away she may fall asleep again as you said?

    At 4am:
Maybe do the 'its not time for play yet it still sleep time and take her back to bed' and keep putting her back til about 6am .... This will eventually teach her that when the house is quiet it is sleep quite time in her room.... when mum/dad get up thats when you can get up... kwim

Im still forcing a 7 45 am get up time and NO earlier for my ds who is 9yrs SO i hear you!!!

    cheers

at that age when DD1 just new to a big bed i had two bed rails so she couldnt get out! worked for months til she realised finally she could climb over the top
maybe when she wakes give her a few books for her and encourage her to stay in bed, though its easier said than done

DS did that as well when he moved to a big bed and realised he could get out. So we just let him crawl in with us and he would go back to sleep until 6.30.

Of course now - he wakes up around midnight/1am most nights and crawls in with us

DD#1 is an early riser too - usually 5:30am to go to the toilet.
After that if she isn't going to go back to sleep (which she usually doesn't!) then I set up her toys and books in her room and say that its still too early to get up and mummy and daddy need more sleep so she has to play in her room.
She will now play by herself with her door closed for half an hour to an hour. Then she knows we will get up for the day. It took a little while for her to get the hang of it but now its great!

I have a baby gate across the door. DS was getting up 3-4 times a night and with a newborn, it was doing my head in. We put a baby gate across the door and he sleeps 7.30pm-8am 90% of the time. If he's upset or anything he will stand at the gate and call out and we can hear him striaght away. We leave the door open so he doesn't feel so closed in, and we also have a hallway light on as he likes having a light on when he's in bed.
It's helped with his day sleeps aswell as he was attempting to get away with only 20 minutes but is back to at least 1.5 hours which he really needs.
The gate worked straight away and when he gets put to bed, he just stays there now ad doesn't take 60-90 minutes to get down like he did before the gate was there. It's been a sleep saver!
We will keep the gate there until he starts toilet training which possibly won't be for a little while yet.
