Extra Calories to help with weight gain..

Hi, my DS is 11 months old and was told today from my local clinic nurse to try adding more calories (the good sorts...) to his food to improve his weight gain.. He is putting on weight, but has slowed in the last couple of months.. She suggested adding some cheese sauce to his veggies and meals and using butter spread on his sandwiches which I already do, does anybody have any other suggestions?? I am stumped as to what to use! Thanks,

Root vegetables like potato, carrot etc. Pasta/rice/noodles etc.
Grind up some nuts and seeds like linseed/almond/cashew and sprinkle them over cut up fruit and yoghurt or on his normal breakfast cereal. Lots of nutrition and great for brain development.

Hard to go past olive oil for the good kind of fats. It's much better for you than butter. I'd try spreading it on bread, with a little cut tomato on top and even some cheese, kinda like a bruschetta.

Avocados are high in good fats.

I mix cheese and butter in with DD's veggies to add extra calories and some more protein, used to mash an egg yolk in. Scrambled Eggs is great. Avocado and smooth peanut butter on toast were also high fat nutrient dense foods we gave her lots of - has worked too - she's chubbed up nicely in the last couple of months! All the best :-)

I think everything has been covered

Under the supervision of Brendan's dietician we also gave him "super milk" which is cows milk mix with formula powder (no water added)

I added butter to his vegies, made no attempt to cut out any sort of fats at all.
