    Question What do you think??

For a couple of weeks I've been feeling OFF....not myself at all. I've had BT done and am waiting for the results but I fully expect them to come back negative.

Physically I've had AF-like pains, lower back ache, blinding headaches, tiredness and now the latest is tender boobies. My mind has been all over the show....mood swings terribly

I'm leaning heavily towards something hormonal. And I know from reading this you will think I'm pregnant instantly.

BUT I have a Mirena in, and have done so now for 16 months. I did POAS a couple of weeks ago but nothing. I've never had any trouble like this before, and I'm not sure how the Mirena could be contributing as from what I understand it's a constant slow release of hormone....so I'm not sure what could have changed to cause these symptoms?

Hun, that is really interesting. I went through the same thing a few months back - a few months after having my mirena removed. I never found out what is was - my bt came back normal - but it was very real! I'd love to know what the cause is.

The Mirena is supposed to last for 5 years - and I only had mine in for one a bit years. And my hormone levels in the bt looked ok - yet I felt totally hormonal. It's quite bizarre.

Bec, the good news for you if it's the same thing that I went through, is that it didn't last. The moods maybe, but the headaches etc did stop. I hope it goes away for you too.

Well I rang the Dr for my results expecting them to be normal and he wants to see me :s

since I'm still seeing my old GP who is almost an hour away I didn't make an appointment until next week but now I'm worried, lol.

hopefully it's just iron tablets or something

    I agree.

They can't tell you anything over the phone I don't think, even if it's something minor - mine won't even tell you if results are negative.
I was going to say could be just your hormones are a bit out of whack? It might ot even be related to the Mirena, could be a hormone thing that would have popped up anyway if that makes sense.
Hope it is all ok for you

In the past if it's clear, they've just said it's clear....no need to come back. I'll try not to worry, starting to second guess my POAS now LOL but I think if I were pg they'd be onto me quickly as I do have the Mirena in.

I'm sure it's jut low iron or something common like that

    Thanks

I just came on here looking for answers as I am having the same thing!

I have had a Mirena IUD for 2 years now (DS is now 2 1/2). I have had sore boobs for about 5 days, headaches, slightly nauseas today, and really really tired.

I thought - no way could I be pregnant (we already have 3 kids!!) and this was the reason for having the Mirena in the first place. I have no idea when my last period was as it is on and off since I had the Mirena in, but the last time I remember it was only light spotting.

I am looking forward to seeing what your dr says!!

    Well.......

firstly I had to change my appt back to next week. I've been waiting to get my car re-repaired for MONTHS down there and now I can do it next week. Also DD now needs to get some stitches removed next week so we'll just go down and do it all in one day So tuesday it is

It all got the better of me and I did POAS the other afternoon....and nothing. Kinda relieved but not iykwim? I know it was afternoon and not the best time etc but since then my bb have settled down and all I have now is some weird pain around my ovaries occasionally. So I still think something funky is going on with all my reproductive bits , lol.

    Thanks Nic

Ok well the news is fine

DR worried me being so serious but the news is I'm a little low in Vit D and my liver function seems to be a bit low too. Nothing he is at all concerned about, we test again in 6 months.

Hormonal changes are a result of stress, nothing to do with the Mirena

    Thanks
