    Anyone here work for NSW Department Of Health? Interview advice?

    I have an interview tomorrow for a senior administrative position (ie non-medical) at NSW DOH. Wondering if anyone has been through their interview process? I am a bit nervous because I am very interested in the job and haven't really been through government job interviews before.

    Hi

    I don't work for NSW health but did work for WA health for many years.

    My advice is check out their website and especially policies on the big issues such as "occupational health and safety", "quality assurance", etc.

    Don't spend hours on it...but it's good to be able to use some of their jargon and to show some awareness of their policies in your answers.

    I haven't either - but good luck - I have a job interview with the Fed Health Dept tomorrow and am scared witless - it doesn't help that I have been doing the exact job for the past 12 months and it will damage the ego a little if I dont get it.

    But Monnie has the right idea - they will have a seciton on recruitment and their mission statements and things like that - just have a read of them and also familiarise yourself with the functions that they perform etc. Look like you have done some research and are genuinely interested in the position.

    Glad to hear that you went well Pixie. Hearing in the next couple of days is great.

    I think I went fine - two of the panel members where my current supervisor and their current supervisor so it was a bit weird.

    And I don't find out for a month - my have to try and get an indication before then - I'm too impatient to wait a month.
