i had some moles taken out

for the first time i have experienced some moles being taken out and all i can say is OUCH and PITA! they actually werent cancerous or anything just annoying. the Dr said to keep the bandage ON for 5 days and i cant get them wet so i cant have a shower for 5 days. one is in the arm pit and one is upper/inner thigh! we dont have a bath so i cant even do a shallow bath with leg out thing! :-( have to do the sponge bath and it sux! it sounds a bit strange though.. anyone else had moles out and been told to keep them bandaged for 5 days and not to change the bandage?

PLUS- he said they wouldnt hurt in the days afterwards. well he lied, they do hurt. especially if i move in a way that pulls on them! is that normal?

they do hurt for a few days, particularly if the skin stretches. I've had moles removed on three different occasions and I haven't ever had to keep the bandage on... for the first 24 hours I kept it dry but after that I showered normally. (one on my tummy, two on my back and one on my breast)

I guess follow your Dr's instructions but if it gets hot or really really sore take the bandage off. GL

oh, i wish i could have a shower! LOL were your moles removed and then sutured? maybe you got different instructions if they were removed in a different way to mine. mine were actually cut out and stiched up.

is go to the chemist and ask about some waterproof coverings for them, likes for burns etc..

Mine were cut out and sewn up, and the stiches taken out 10-14 days later. Like olive suggested, get some waterproof coverings, they work really well

Yep get waterproof bandaid thingys. I got mine from Safeway, they were Bandaid brand (the big ones) and they worked really well. I recently got some from the chemist and paid almost $15 so go the Bandaid brand.

They should stop being sore after a few days but that could depend on the part of the body they're on. I had some taken off my leg which didn't hurt but the ones taken from my neck and arms did, probably due to having more movement in those areas.
