What do you do about those bits of food?

My DS is going really well with BLS. However, after most meals he seems to keep a small bit of food in his mouth. It will stay in there for ages - which is fine, until I want to go down for a sleep. I don't want him choking on that bit of food.
So far all I've done is try and fish the food out myself - but it's a long, difficult process where DS refuses to open his mouth for me.

Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what do you do about it?

I often give DD some water from her sippy cup, it helps wash it down

Yeah something to drink, fish it out or DD spits it out herself

I thought this was about the bits that fell on the floor - and I was gonna tell you that I feed them to the dog.. LOL

I wish we had a dog! lol

Thanks - I'll try the water. Not sure if that would work with what he had in his mouth tonight though - a quite large chunk of meat!

Sterla, I was thinking just this myself!
Nate has a really high palette and so much gets stuck up there.
I'm a bit of a fisher outer too, but the little blighter bites now! Might try the water too....it seems he has discovered Darcy's cups anyway.

I was going to say compost, but then I read your actual post

DS used to work on bits for ages - a drink for smaller bits or fish it out.
