Healthy weight gain and baby budget

    Hi all,

Just hoping to get some advice.

I'm 29 weeks pregnant now, and whilst I think I look ok and people say I'm looking well, I have gained 11 or 12kg so far. I'm normally in the healthy range of the BMI. Has/had anyone else gained a similar amount of weight at this stage? I eat pretty well, I treat myself occasionally but i'd say my diet is pretty reasonable.

    Also,

Just trying to do a budget given that I'm about to stop working and obviously on my own. Wondering what baby expenses I should budget for whilst she's a newborn (per week)? I will hopefully receive C/L payments and am living with Mum and Dad, so I just want to be sensible with my cash and make sure I get by ok.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Breastfed newborns are probably the least expensive that they will ever be!

    Clothes, nappies, wipes.

    Goodluck!

    hi Newmummy85
    congrats on the pg =)
It is normal to put on weight! obviously, there is baby, there is amniotic fluid, there is placenta, your increase in blood volume, increase in fluid =)
change in diet too, even if you are still eating 'healthy' metabolism etc changes slightly and may be enough just to bump you over.
lifestyle changes too, you might not be as active as you once were.
just keep up regular exercise, like a 30 min walk everyday if not most, and eat your vegies and fruites etc =) look after yourself and there for your baby

things that might be an issue is gest. diabetes, even though this might not be related to your weight gain, have you had a glucose load test yet? was it normal?
also do you know what your fundal measurements are? (where they measure from your pubic bone to the top of your uterus.) if these are all normal i wouldn't worry about it.
=) hopefully that helped and maybe got others to post too.
no idea about the budget sorry =(
    good luck with it!!

I have put on about the same as you as well.. and the laast couple of weeks I have been living off watermelon, can't get enough of it!
I ask my Dr at every weigh in if the amount I have put on is ok and he always says it's perfectly natural to put on a few Kg's... he doesn't seem too concerned. So, enjoy the last 3 months you have of being able to eat whatever you fancy, I say, just keep it on moderation
