When did your constant waker become a good sleeper?

My DS wakes a lot at night. 3 times is the norm, but more (many more) is not uncommon. I'm used to it now, and deal with it okay... but it would be nice to know that he'll sleep better one day

So, when did your constant waker become a good sleeper?

both of mine were shocking sleepers (dd up to 10 times a night !) both went to sleep school and we read and tried every trick in the book ..

they both slept through after they turned 1 around 13 months .. now both sleep through with the odd bad night .

we thought we have to take dd back to sleep school as she was still bad , but we changed her to a differnt room in the house as well , so its either a coincidene or not .

i dont fear night time any more ... DS is 3 and DD 14 mths

I feel for your lack of sleep we had a constant waker too.

We found that a very strict routine at bed time helped us. However we found this out when lumpy was 3 She sleeps really well now and the only reason she'll wake is if she is sick or too hot/cold.

I hope your little one gets the hang of sleeping longer stretches soon

My little girl has started sleeping through since she's had a break from the teething. I'm dreading her 2 year old molars though!

DS started sleeping a lot better from about 7.5 months. BUT, he still wakes a lot and needs company through the night if he's teething, sick, going through some sort of developmental leap or has just had a really exciting day.
He has slept through the night without waking twice in his life.

It was like at 12 months a light when off for DS and he just started sleeping through. I know it feels like a long stretch but no matter what we tried he just figured it out in his own time.

Hopefully you get some more zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz soon.

My DS was 2 before he began to sleep through every night. Before that he was so up & down. Some nights he would sleep through, others wake once, others wake twice & so on!
Not really sure what changed for us, only thing I can think of is all his teeth were through by then, even the molars....he was a shocking teether so I think that was what it was most of the time.

For DS - after he turned 2 things got better. He mostly only has one wake up a night. DD is 10 months and still waking often. DS was a shocking teether too.

was about 18months for D. She stopped waking frequently at about 8-9months though and kept it to once or twice per night.

My eldest was a terrible sleeper. He finally slept through at 3 yrs of age.. which I know isn't what you want to hear lol.. My 4th bub was also not a good sleeper but I learnt to change what we did with our first and she finally slept through the night at 13 months

she still wakes but it is usually around 4 and just climbs into bed with us now.

Until she went into her toddler bed she was sleeping through virtually everynight

They all do eventually. At what age who knows, but just like walking, they all do in the end!

Im still waiting for both my kids to get the hang of sleeping. Not only are they frequent wakers at night, they are also early birds, so we're up at the crack of dawn every day. I'm so over not sleeping well.

DS slept through the night for the first time at 18 months...when we moved him into a big boy's bed.

However he wasn't really reliably sleeping through until just before he turned 2. He is now 3 years old and he still wakes up at night sometimes but when he does he just comes into our room with his pillow, snuggles down between us and goes straight back to sleep so not a big deal at all.

then I had a year's grace - now he's on msn til midnite, wants to be dropped off at parties at 10 pm and picked up at 3am
sorry - tongue in cheek (a little) but my boys think I never sleep any more - no matter what time of the day or night they clump around the house I am asking what's going on.... All those years of training I guess....

Well, my great sleeper (DS1) started waking all the time at 7 months. My constant waker (DS2) became a brilliant sleeper at 12 months. And he is even now the better sleeper of the two. I figure it all evens out in the end.

All of mine took a while to sleep through & sleep well. I think we were still getting up at around 12 - 18 months with pretty much all of them, maybe later - can't quite remember as it was a while ago.

Which is kind of the point - the best thing I can say is it does eventually pass...
& then you have a whole heap of other things to lose sleep over
