    What causes de-lamination

Tell me what I did 'cause I don't want to ruin my stash for new bub!

I have 2 Haute Pockets that the PUL lamination has come off from the outside fabric. Not sure how old they are - 2 years maybe, washed twice a week maybe. Occasionally had a hot wash - would that have caused it or is it just that they're too old?

DS was wearing them to bed, but I'll just have to wash my 2 Bum Genius' every second day - don't want to break into the stash for the new bub ('cause its at my parent's place & all the OSFM's are at the bottom of the bag & we're moving in 3 weeks)

    Thanks in advance.

Have you used a dryer at all?
It may just be wear though.

Heat did it for me. I had the machine set on 40 degrees, whjch should have been fine. But our tap water is much hotter than that, and the machine was hooked to the hot tap too. So I think that when the tap water went in, before it mixed with the cold, it was far hotter than 40 degrees, and whichever nappy was right there got blasted.

If it's any consolation, I delaminated 6 brand new bumgenius nappies 6 months ago and they are still working just fine, even though they look a bit weird because the plastic is all stuck up. They don;t leak or anything. I never thought they would last like this, but they have so far...

Is it possible the de-lamination happens to those nappies made with not-so-good quality PUL? A few of my peapods have done this.... but none of my other nappies.... and Peapods are on the cheaper scale.... makes you wonder
Although they have been good and replaced them for me. I don't do hot washes, only warm.
