first period after loss

Hi guys... i lost my little girl at 18 weeks a month ago and i have just got my first period after this happened.
i am on day 3 now and i STILL have massive cramps and clots and everything (sorry TMI)
i am just wondering if anyone know if this is normal or should i go back to the Dr??

Firstly hun,

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your little girl.
My periods have always been pretty nasty but after each MC and after Nikita that first period has been pretty bad for cramping and clotting.

I figure that my body is just shedding all the extra lining etc that may have built up and that cannot happen without some discomfort/pain. I also found that the bleed was heavier too?

I guess it you have excessive bleeding and are in excruciating pain then to go to the Dr, but keep an eye on it yourself and soothe the discomfort with a hottie/wheat bag and maybe some neurofen or other pain killer.
