started solids: when will her poos settle down?

DD is 6 months and a week and a bit and breastfed. We've been playing with solid foods for a couple of weeks now. We're doing BLW, so not much is going in, but a little clearly is because her poos are a mess. It's hard to handle because we are having many "nappy disasters" and we're travelling overseas at the moment so it's hard than usual to manage a lot of baby mess.

How long did it take your baby to get their system sorted enough so their poos were not so frequent and so runny? Did it depend on what food you gave them?

That sounds very messy! It's different for every baby, but I didn't really have an issue with poos with either DS when they started solids. DS1 particularly had been a once a week pooer and it started gradually getting more frequent, but not explosive. What sort of foods has she had? Where abouts are you overseas? It might be a tummy bug rather than just an adjustment to solids.

    Thanks MantaRay,

We're in Spain, visiting family. It's not the kind of country known for bad bugs, but then most times I'm here I seem to manage to catch something (so far not this time, though DH is sick with something as I type, which is unusual). I mean, you can get sick anywhere, can't you.

I was assuming that since DD doesn't seem sick at all, it would be the solids rather than a tummy bug. She doesn't have a temperature and seems very cheerful. Just lots of runny poos.

Whatever it is, I do hope it settles down sooner rather than later.
