Our coffee bean tried to come early..

where have i been......It all started with my internet dying on me over 1 week later it is all good back up and running YAY! As i have a naked plan i have had no phone too

O.k now to Saturday well i woke up to pains in my tummie that stayed around all day i didnt think much of it but by afternoon it was getting worse. There was no other symptoms at all. Next day Sunday the pains were getting worse it wasn't intill after noon till i was seaming through them that i actually thought what if i am in labor. No way to early. I could time them it was so consistent about every 17 mins but lasting 2-3 mins.

After a lot of prayer they calmed down a bit but i was still getting irregular pains across my stomach just above my navel but not the same pains i had experienced. I thought its o.k they are passing we will see what happens. BY 9pm i was still thinking it will pass but they didnt and they were increasingly getting worse again. So at 10 to 10 i rang the ex and said can you come round i gotta go to hospital. he came here pretty fast with a pillow doona and a meal of micky d's.

Me and hubbie took off to the hospital Unfortunately i had to drive hubbie still doesn't have a license just yet and never night drove we waited in car till pain stopped then rushed off to hospital. We went to emergency. After about 15 min a nurse took a look at me my bp was up and they hospital was packed i was lucky to get a bed.

They monitored my bp and basically argued over where i should be here or maternity. maternity refused me as they were to busy and said they would take me tomorrow. No one would check to see with a baby moniter if i really was having contractions or if it was something else. they said its not viable intill 24 weeks so we dont check and cant and wont give you anything. No im sorry or are you o.k how do ya feel about that. Nope nothing.

They gave me two panadene forte's and after that some morphine And took blood and wee samples and hooked me up to a drip. Finally the pains started to ease around 4am, At 6 am i thought well if this nameless baby boy was gonna come and the hospital cant and wont do anything ild rather be at home in the comfort of my own surroundings. So we went home. They gave me a scipt for more panadene forte so i took one dose of that and by 4pm that day i finally had a moment to lay down and i was out for the count till next day.

So what caused all of it... they said a stomach bug that was like a gastro bug with out the symptoms just the stomach upset pain that brought on labor earlier in the day. I never knew that stomach bugs could bring on labor. Was a very so real moment and day im glad that its all passed now. Just a few weeks now till 24 fingers crossed. legs too.

How scary for you..hope the little one stays tucked up tight for another couple of months at least!

Sorry about your treatment at the hospital too...you would think they would be trying anything and everything to stop labour whether they consider it at a "viable" gestation or not, and thumbs down to the maternity ward for being "too busy"...they should never be too busy for a patient that needs medical care!

Look after yourself, and I hope the little tacker stays in there!

Oh wow how frightening. Glad it's all eased up and he stayed put!

My OB suspects a tummy bug put me into prem labour with DD. I was throwing up all the night before and couldn't really tell the difference between a tightening and stomach cramps. Went to see him because I just felt so ill and dehydrated and went into labour.. they couldn't stop it. So who knows if it was the tummy bug or if she was on her way anyway and the vomiting was a prelabour thing.

Oh hun how scary! Im glad your ok though *hugs*

I had gastro (vomitting and all) at 20wks with Ds2. I came down with it at about 1pm and by 5pm when Dh got home I was nearly unconcious and so dehydrated it took 3 nurses and 45min to get an IV in. I was fine after a day or two; but the day after I came home I went into labour. We got asked the most horrid questions a parent could ever be asked because they didnt think he would stay in there. Managed to stop it though and I went home. Ended up being back in 6 times, on bedrest and medication to stop contractions til 35wks, 3cm dialated from 33wks.

He got kicked out at 37+6! So hang in there, he is proof that they can keep cooking long enough to come out healthy after early labour scares! The OB who delivered him thinks he's a miracle lol I certainly hope it doesnt keep happening for you because it was such an awful experience for me.

What a horrible ordeal for you to go through.
Gosh some of that I could have written from my own experience. I am so glad things settled down for you its very a frightening thing to face.

Hang in there little man we don't want to hear about your arrival for another 19 weeks

SS-Storm and Starrysky - I am not so surprised by the hospitals way of dealing with that situation, I had two hospitals refuse to take me until I got to 23 weeks with Nikita - not saying they couldn't have been more empathetic but they do things very matter of factly when you are in that situation because there isn't a thing they can do for the mum, the labour or the baby. Its basically a wait and see approach with minimal anything else.
