we let dd draw on her potty, kinda personalise it.. it really helped![]()
He knows. The little part of his brain that reacts when the bladder is full has kicked in. For 2 or 3 days straight he used the potty with no accidents. Then we were out for 2 days & he had nappies on for the whole 2 days.
Back a step we go.
I was paying close attention. He'd come saying wee's & I was watching closely to see if there was any wee when he said it, or if he was saying it before he started. So I knew he was ready to do it!
But since the weekend he's not interested in the potty. Wee's on the floor & occasionally will look at me as if to say 'ha ha'!
Poo's aren't looking good at all. Won't even consider the potty for them. At all. 'Nap'... he asks me to put a nappy on. He again tells me before hand, but will happily wait for me to get a nappy & put it on.
Oh, another thing...pants/undies. I guess just have them on him so he feels the wet when he wets them? He knows the difference between a nappy & nothing, but isn't sure just yet where the undies come into it. I know it'll happen in time. I just don't want to hold him back when he is happy to go....iykwim.
Praise is everything, he gets alot of that & will get off (when he uses it) proud of himself & clapping. He knows the drill, I just want to get him back into it again. You can't push these things though I guess.

He loves his potty, lol. I guess it'll just take time to get back into it again. He's still pretty young, so I'll just let him do what he wants to do.
Hun, don't rush DS into using his potty. He may not be ready and you may even scare him. He will know when the right time is. My mum tried to potty train DD when she was about 14 months and she refused. I told mum to back off. DD wanted to go to the potty herself when she was about 18 months and hasn't been back to day nappies. Yes, she wears nappies at night because she still wakes up for milk once a night and i am happy to give it to her.
My DS was toilet trained (his wee) by 2 yo but he would do his poos in nappies. He got out of this habit by the time he was about 3.5yo. It is nothing to be ashamed of. They are kids and they will learn in their own time.
Your DS will come around i promise. He won't be wearing nappies at 18, i promise![]()
Lol, I know. I'm not that worried.
He wanted to do it & he was so proud of himself when he did do it. But I should know that it will go backwards!
I do, kinda want to speed the process along because he's so sensitive & we are always having drama's with his poor little doodle, but I know I can't push things & that its not fair.
is the potty in sight? Keep it out where he can see it. It might evoke a sense for him to use it??
Do you think he would like the ping pong ball in the toilet trick?
Yep, out in the loungeroom. Aah, whats a few more wee's on the floor? lol
at least it is sterile![]()
