Since my young SIL passing away from cancer last month each day since her funeral i have seen one magpie each and every day, whether it be in the morning, arvo or early evening ... or at home or when out walking, etc ...
Just the one time & just the one magpie.
Then this week i put a thread on about my ' maybe ' being pregnant & since that day i have no longer seen a magpie ... which in a strange way i kind of miss
I have goggled and most websites say that seeing ONE magpie means sorrow ... Do you think this is so ?? ... and i'm wandering WHY i no longer see the magpie
My DP is a (Magpie) Collingwood football supporter ... and when DD was born the 1st gift he bought her was a baby membership to the footy club in which she had many Magpie mascot items arrive for her in the mail ... and i kind of was a supporter of Collingwood as a teen many years ago.
... I'm curious to hear all of your thoughts on this
I assosicate magpies with sadness...and passing souls. (Yep maz has a bird thing ) Its like they are there until they realise its time to go and know YOU are ready to continue on.
Feeling with your gut is usually the first step in recognising something IFYKWIM ....and tuning that ear in to it is the second
Dont be saddened that you dont see the magpie anymore if your associating her with it chicky....think of it as a new phase, she's completed her duties in this life, to make poeple smile and wit them with her intellegance and is already heading for her next amazing adventure.
... yeh, i get what you mean Maz ... i remember the last time i saw the magpie i actually had a giggle & thought of the humour behind it ' if ' it was her way of sending a message of some sort & i felt really good with it ... and i reckon it looked at me over it's shoulder too, now that really made me giggle at the time & still does
I always try to see the positives in every sign. You saw the magpie as a sign from your SIL, you were grieving and will be for a long time. Now that the magpie has disappear you feel the connection has gone as well. Since the magpie has gone, see it as a sign your SIL is okay and in a good place.
