    Kitten Adoption

    Hi ladies,

I'm interested in adopting a kitten in the coming weeks... We are going to try and wait until between Christmas and New Years because I have two weeks off at the start of January and I can stay at home and help her get settled ? I would rather that then have to leave her at home alone while we?re at work a day or two after we get her...

We live on the Southside in Brisbane and was wondering if anyone could let me know if they know of any shelters around the area.

    Thanks in advance
    Nic

Look up the RSPCA online. They should even have some photos of those animals in your area. Although they don't always update things as often as they should so it never hurts to ring to check if they have any in before you go in either.

It is a good idea to be home, at least for the first few days - but if you are going to wait until then it is pretty pointless looking now because whatever is there now willl likely be gone by then, and they never know when or how many they will have in the future.

Good Luck Nic, hope you get your putty tat for Christmas.
I took Mat Leave with my Baby Girlfriend, the best 4 weeks I have ever invested.
By the time Bold n Beautiful came along we were sound asleep on the lounge together.

    Where abouts on the southside?

Maybe try your local council, that's where we got our little man and he only cost $50, that included microchipping, desexing and registration for a year.

just aftrer christmas there will be loads of cats and kittens due to unwanted gifts, and they keep coming into the shelters for at least 4mths as the cute kitten grow into unwanted cats...

we have had a few cats and the best cat we ever got was 16 weeks old from the RSPCA, as people go into the rspca all the time to look at cats and sit with them so they get real used to people...

its great that you are wanting to get a shelter cat/kitten...

dont be afraid of the older ones as all cute little 6week old kittens will turn into 6mth old cats one day...

Thanks so much guys!!! I really appreciate your input.

CBG, as much as I want the cat before Christmas, I think we will wait until between Christmas and NYE - I have 3 weeks off over Christmas and we will be child free for about a week and a half of this time... gives the kitten time to adjust to a new house before the screaming kids come home!!!

Amanda - I'm at Holland Park West, but am willing to travel... where did you get your little one from?
