Question Understanding Dreams ... Where to get resourceful info about dreams i have ??

    Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a great book or site of information in regards to the meaning of dreams that i have ??

(i do have a dream book for reference of meanings but it's getting old & it's info is limited ... i need something with a bit more in depth to the meanings of the dreams i have).

I have had vivid dreams on a regular basis for many years, seeing full colour, smelling scents/parfums, seeing my nephew before he was born, and once predicted lottery numbers (but darn never purchased a ticket) !!

Please feel free to PM if you like or post here

    TIA for any help

I don't know the names of any books but maybe check the local library, have a bit of a browse and see if there is anything more in depth there for you?

I have very vivid dreams at times and also wonder what they mean, i have dreamt people are PG and it's come true (myself included twice) so i know the meanings of those but others are not quite so straight forward.

Good luck, will keep an eye on this thread as might be good to look into some of mine.

Sorry L I missed this thread earlier. You're right to ask for recommendations because there are a lot of dream books out there that are useless! As much as there are hints in the symbols that appear in your dreams, you will have your own set of symbols so it's always useful to think about what any single "thing" (event, person, place) might represent to you personally, as well as asking yourself how the dream felt.

    My recommended 'dream' reads:
Dreams: signs of things to come (by Quentin Watts. She used to do dream interpretations on TripleJ radio a few years ago. Short book but very useful IMO. She also wrote another called Wake up to yourself: the wisdom of dreaming but I haven't read it).
Hidden power of dreams by Denise Linn - this one explores the world of dreams from a framework that includes spirit guides etc but she also looks into astral projection.
Conscious Dreaming by Robert Moss. This is by far the most comprehensive book I have read and deals with the phenomena of what to do when you're having a dream and you realise (inside the dream) that you are dreaming. He also looks at how to tell when the dream you're having is prophetic vs just a regular dream (might be useful if you've already experienced having prophetic dreams). Robert Moss has written several other books but I'd recommend you read this one first and then check out the others if you want to know more.

All of these books go beyond your basic dream symbol meanings and should give you some tools and ideas for juicing the most benefit out of the vivid dreams you are having. It can be a very meaningful and satisfying exploration.

    Hello,
I've read a few great reviews on the books Marydean suggested.

If your looking for something quick to search you can try this site
    Dream Moods A-Z Dream Dictionary

Keep in mind these are only guidelines.. what one symbol may mean to you, will mean something different to someone else. When attempting to interpret your dream. write it down then pick keywords then look up the meaning, not forgetting to look up numbers, colours etc..

    Cheers
    xx
