    complete placenta previa

hi, i had my appointment with my ob yesterday after my 20 week ultrasound which happened a week and a half before hand, and i found out that i have a complete placenta previa. i am a registered nurse so i knew a little about it, plus i have googled it since then to see a bit more about it. i want to know if anyone has this or has had this, and how have u been. i am so worried now and my DH worst fear was losing me in childbirth, now he is worried that it could come true after reading some facts about it. i have to have another scan at 30 weeks to check it and confirm it, but the radiologist was definite thats what i have. i am really scared

I did not have this with DD, but my aunty did (whi was preg at the same time as me with DD), they just booked her in for a C-Section 2 weeks prior to her EDD and everything went very smoothly. She was off all painkillers by the next day and home only a few days after having her very healthy baby. She has had no troubles since either.

I wish you all the very best with it all! Try not to worry yourself too much.

Hi Teresa. Try not to be too scared about what you have read on google. Having placenta praevia is a worrying thing, but your Dr knows about it and will be sure to pay extra attention so that your little boy arrives safely. Have a read of this article here https://www.bellybelly.com.au/pregna...acenta-praevia on the BB main site.

    Hi Teresa,
try not to worry too much (i know its hard!) but they've picked it up and will monitor you closely now I'm sure.

One of the mum's in my mother's group had placenta previa, and her DD was born 6wks prem by c-sect (labour started naturally) - both mum and bub were fine, and her DD is a gorgeous, healthy 18month old. She's now pg with #2 and no placenta previa.

Take care and I'm sure it will all be good!

(ps don't google things - this just makes up worry more!)

Its good to stay aware of whats going on, if you ever feel unsure go get checked and if you see any blood go straight to hospital.. your doc will keep a good close eye on you. Good luck.

I also have a LLP I'm 18wks and my midwife wasnt to concerned about it just to avoid deep pentrating sex. They will do another scan at 32 wks to see if its moved up. Hopefully it does.
