It seems we have a house guest.....

Yesterday I came home with DD and as we were coming up the stairs I could hear one of her toys playing music. We were both saying 'hello' because the Bear's car wasn't outside so we didn't think anyone was home. Well, the house was empty, and Beth's little Jack-in-the-box was playing music by itself. It normally only plays when you turn the handle. A little bit later I was sitting on the couch and the jack-in-the-box was playing music again, completely by itself!
It wasn't the first time either, a month or so ago one of her other toys was playing music by itself. The first time it really freaked me out, but this time after the initial shock of toys playing by themselves in an empty house it was more of a playful feeling. Although I had a bit of trouble getting to sleep last night!
Very weird! I was saying to Beth 'do you have friends that mummy can't see?'. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

    hi, how freaky!
My mum recently did a house clearing for a family who were having similar problems, I think (if I am remembering correctly!) there was a family connection, the little girls father and grandfather had died and were trying to say goodbye....mum said she just "sent them to the light" (well, there was a bit more to it than that! but you get the picture...)
I dont know why, and I dont usually get feelings like this, but I am feeling it is a child, somehow connected to the house or your family, hmmm, well I hope you can get some answers or he/she stays relatively quiet for you.

I also have 'visitors' and it can be quite a shock.
Did DD give you any idea if she does have any 'friends' you can't see?

It's strange that it's only the toys playing music by themselves, i assume the jack in the box doesn't have batteries and it's one of those wind up ones, which would mean LESS chance of a malfunction.
I know DD's toys that have batteries sometimes play ALONE when the batteries are on the way out.

Hope someone has some answers for you!

A friend who knows about these things offered to come and 'sort it out' for us.... she says it is an energy or spirit attached to the house, something very gentle and that loves Beth apparently! AM I don't think DD understood what I was talking about LOL

Hehe they don't at such a young age, has she been laughing at random things, talking to windows etc?

I found DD at the window talking and laughing, thought was at our dogs which isn't unusual but when i looked they were near the window i was at, walked into the lounge and saw something at the window take off!
They def see things we don't always know are there.

I hope your friend can maybe help you out, still haven't figured out the link with mine, ones a man and i THINK the one inside is a woman... hmmmm

It's all so intriguing, keep us informed and it decides to play with the less noisy toys for you!

She's always knocking on the windows and saying 'hewwo' and waves and says 'bye bye' at random times sometimes but I never connected it. I kind of feel this energy is a child or of a childish nature. it seems quite gentle and playful. It will be interesting to see what my friend thinks about it!

Maybe she is chatting to her 'friend' i know kids do these things randomly anyway but after what i saw with DD i am pretty sure the see things we don't always know are there.

Good luck, it seems harmless enough but get your friend to check it out!

ooohhh I got goose pimps all over my arms and legs.

I remember I had a wind up clown that played a very pretty version of "Send in the clowns" and one day I went to my bedroom (when I was younger) and it was playing - freaked me right out and the clown went down to the shed in the backyard.

I hope Maz sees this, I know she has said some very interesting things in other threads like this one she may be able to offer an insight if you ask her nicely??

ooooooh I forgot to update this thread!!
A week or so ago a friend of mine (S) came around for lunch and 'cleared' our little visitor.... and this is what she had to say about 'her': apparently it was a 10 or 11 year old girl, with long hair and a white dress/ shirt. I had dreamed of her, but I only have the vaguest recollection. Something happened here 30 years ago and the girl had died or subsequently passed away and come back to this house. She came in when DD was sick with the chicken pox wanting to comfort her and play with her. S said she would sit with DD and stroke her hair when she was sick. S asked if DD had been waking out of kilter, and the very night before she had woken up 4 times because she had rolled out of bed, which she had never done before (or since). S said it was because the little girl was lying beside her and she had no room. Interesting because I tried laying down beside her, which usually makes her go to sleep and she wriggled around as if she was uncomfortable, but as soon as I took her out to the lounge room she fell asleep in no time. S helped her to move on and that, apparently, is that!

We thought we had visitors too. Toys would go off in the middle of the night randomly.

Then we realised it was mice coming in from the building site next door and knocking the toys as they ran past
