    Talking Found another baby!!!

We have 2 Apple water snails in our tropical tank.... we bought these 2 as small snails, about as big as my thunb nail, and within 3 months they are MASSIVE, so looked them up online to discover we have Apple snails....

A few weeks ago we found a funny nest thing, so we have a girl and boy....

We have one baby from them, getting to be a good size now too.... and I just found a newer, littlier baby snail!!!
Not sure where its come from, the nest is all broken up and empty, has been for weeks, and I cant see a new one? But it definately just brand new... so tiny!!!

definatly someting in the water here... me, the cat, the snails.. again...

    I just found 2 more!!!!!

I figured there is no way they are here without a clutch of eggs somewhere, so opened the tank and there is a massive clutch up under the lid, a heaps better one than the first one they made.

There are 4 opened eggs, and I can find 3 babies, so a great start!!!
We only got 1 from the first batch... but I think we're going to end up with heaps this time!!!

Probably 9-10 cm.... they grow so fast!!! They do like little yellow apples too!!!

You can watch their mouths open up and suck on the glass, and when they need air, a long tube comes out of their shell and goes up to the surface, and they suck in and out... a bit freaky, the kids love it!!

    lol thats too cute hun.
not being funny but does your tank have any snail controlling fish?? like loaches or anything?
We had a couple of apple babies hitch a ride into our tank off a plant we bought, thought it was cute we had three, that grew and grew and grew and b4 we knew it we had about 20 more in the tank! so we bought 3 clown loaches and 2 pakistani loaches to keep them under controll. the big ones are still going but the little ones get gobbled up!

Hehehe, my DH said "should we get some"? the other day!!! He's worried we'll have too many!!

We might just get a seperate tank for them, and let them go nuts!!! We can sell them back to fish shop too we were told....
