    Fertility First Hurstville

    Hello,

Im so excited I am going to my first appointment with Dr Clark at Fert First in Hurstville tomorrow, just one more sleep till Im there. Im like a child before christmas.

I can't wait to start. Its been a long long long wait for donor sperm. We are still with the other clinic on the waiting list still, but I cannot sit on my hands any longer and Im ttc with this clinic as they have no waiting list in the meantime.

There is nothing wrong with me and I have been prg before. So I hope it doesnt take me too long to conceive with IUI. I want to try at least 3 before moving to IVF.

Gosh I hope I can get one treatment in before xmas if not in January.

    Redlady.

    Im so excited.

    Hi Blossom,

My appointment with FF went well. Dr Ann Clarke is so wonderful. She is nothing but nice. Weight was NEVER mentioned she didnt even weigh me or do my height. She went through my history and that of my DH. She did do a pelvis U/S and seems to think I have PCOS. But it has to be ruled out with a blood test too. It is not conclusive to use just an U/S to diagnose PCOS. I had bloods taken and had to do a pee sample. My pee didn't get taken that day as I had a full bladder when I got to the place and had to empty asap. You have to have fluid in your bladder for the last 2 hours before giving the sample.

It was kind of hard for me to find the place from hurstville station. I had so many people send me in the wrong direction. If you come out of the station and looking at a mall then go left down past KFC and hook a right and keep going up this street until you get to a round-a-bout and its across the road from the private hospital.

The staff was nice to me too. I was all flustered as I was late. Forgot my GP referal. etc. You get the picture.

The counsellor was also very nice and up=to-date with her knowledge on current laws regarding donor sperm.

The place was pleasant in asthetics to, it looked modern and good. They have heaps of japanese art. Wait till you see the huge japanese robe kimino hanging in the FS room I think.

ALL the best for your appointment in Dec!!!

I have to ring her in 3 weeks and hopefully the blood test will have come back and hope that we get a start date.

thats great glad you had a good experience, we are still going thru so much emotional stuff and getting counselling to figure out if we can handle it just sucks that everything is so hard emotionally!!
Fingers crossed you are good to go x

    Blossom,

HUGE hugs it does take time to work through all the emotions. And myself and my hubby went through it. But we quickly came to the decision do this (sperm donor) or remain childless.

The only concern from my DH now is that will he be on the birth certificate. And the answer to that is YES of course.

Personally we have made the decision not to tell the children where they are exactly from.

But most people decide to tell their children they are from donor sperm.

The counsellor at fert First didnt say we had to and didnt say we shouldnt she supported us in our own decision.

I did tell her we would tell as I was scared I would be refused treatment. But I now know that she would have supported us either way even if we told her we weren't going to tell.

I hope you find this journey a little easier soon
