I feel like I am contributing a little too much in this section of the forum, but yes my boytwin had this. He had surgery aged 15 months to extend the urethra, straighten the penis and reconstruct the foreskin.
He had a week of abx post op and as soon as he finished on these he got a horrible infection, the wound was yellow and red an completely opened, and he was peeing from the old hole. They gave him stronger abx and checked him again 6 months later, the wound has healed the way the surgeon wanted it to, his surgery has now been pronounced a success and apart from a slight scar on the underside of his penis you could not tell he ever had a problem. He looks just like his brothers now and his penis is twice as long as it looked pre op (due to the curve).
How old is your boy and what have the doc's told you about the severity of his hypospadias?
I was looking to help any other mums out there, because I was freaked out about it all and thought i might be able to help someone else since I have been trough it all now. My son is fine. He had the op at 6 months old/
