My 5 yr old DS has sore inner cheeks HELP!!!

Yesterday my 5 yr old DS was complaining of sore inner cheeks.

Today he is still is so much pain and is drooling from the mouth and crying in his sleep.
I gave him panadol before bed and also some antiseptic numbing gel for the inside of his mouth.
I am really stumped.

I just thought maybe he bit them in the middle of the night and they will heal up soon.

But it seems maybe it could be something else if he is reacting like this.

I don't know what to do?????

How is he now? Can you see anything inside his mouth?
If it's still continuing I'd take him to the gp.
