Should I let the difference in postage slide?

I purchased a couple of things off ebay last week from two different sellers, both which arrived yesterday. The thing is I was overcharged for postage with both of them. The first item I was overcharged 2.90 and the second item 7.55. So my question, should I let it go? With the second item the seller threw in a couple of freebies which would easily cost $8 so I should be happy, but a part of me thinks what if they do it to every buyer? What do you ladies think?

Maybe they've added on the cost of the packaging as well? Of course, that has to be reasonable. If you think it is excessive, I think you can report it to ebay.

A lot of sellers include "handling" in their postage costs, $2.90 is not unreasonable IMO. I honestly don't worry if I'm a bit overcharged because I was happy with the costs before bidding. I'd be upset if I was really ripped off though!

You could always contact the seller that overcharged you the most to ask why, or when leaving feedback stars you could rate their postage charges badly.

When I was an eBay seller I used to charge a very small handling fee to cover packaging. If postage ended up costing less than the buyer was charged, I always offered to refund the difference.

If the postage was listed on the ad before you bid for it, i don't think you really can complain. It is part of the contract that you agreed to.

I agree it sucks when people overcharge for postage, but the buyer has to consider that before bidding.
