Temp, Grizzly, Not eating and tired?

DD had her MMR needles last week and they say a reaction can take 5-12 days to occur and can include:

    * High Fever over 39 - CHECK
    * Faint Red Rash (not infectious)
    * Head cold and/or runny nose - CHECK for RUNNY NOSE
    * Cough and/or puffy eyes - CHECK puffy eyes (randomly)
    * Drowsiness or tiredness - CHECK tiredness
    * Swelling of the salivary glands - possible check - not eating very well at all

So DD had temps and was very grizzly yesterday, wasn't eating all that well so i put it down to a needles reaction, today her temps have varied again, 38 thismorning at 4:30am she was given nurofen and when she woke this morning temp was down to 36
Was lucky to eat half an english fruit muffin for breakfast, didn't even want a milk arrowroot biscuit before lunch.
Would hardly swallow water earlier in the day and drank about 30ml of her bottle.
Ate about 3 mouthfuls of lunch then fed the rest to the dogs, very very sooky took her temp again as was staring to feel hot. 38.8 gave nurofen and she settled a little.
Had to drop her dad off to go out so went and saw her nan, only 2.5hrs after nurofen her temp was back up and all she wanted was cuddles and to sook.
wouldn't even eat Macca's chicken nugget for tea (thought would entice her with something she doesn't normally get).

Stayed awake the entire 45min drive home even though she's wrecked, bought her a new wiggles DVD, she drank about 180ml of her bottle, took temp again 39.. nurofen before bed...

Oh also we had a nice cool bath this arvo and she was happy while in it but temp was still up afterwards... hmm

    NOW WHAT!

Am thinking if she wont eat and isn't drinking too much tomorrow to give her a hydralite icypole, also bought watermelon as she ALWAYS eats it and is full of fluids.
If the temps don't go down tomorrow it's safe to say she should be going to the Dr's on monday right?

Wanted to buy panadol to alternate b/w that and nurofen to keep the temp at bay but stupid safeway didn't have any.

Sorry not sure if any of that makes sense, PG brain not working and i feel so drained, DP is out for the night, finally some ME TIME and chances are DD will wake a fair bit

It sounds like you are doing all the right things, I am sure she will settle down soon. If you are having trouble getting her temp below 39 and you have tried nurofen and panadol then take her to A&E and get her checked out. It is always best to be safe than sorry with a wee one.

Thanks, it drops as soon as the nurofen kicks in.. gotta find some panadol tomorrow so i can alternate until the Dr's open on Monday... poor girl.

Love the cuddles but god she was HOT to touch and so sooky... starting to drain me.. feel so sorry for her though, she has no idea what to do with herself.

    Update

Ok so the poor girl was waking every 10-15min after i put her to bed, as soon as i decided to go to bed she woke screaming.
Checked her temp again 39.3 only 2hrs after nurofen...
So she came into my room, we put on her new wiggles DVD and i spoon fed her a hydrolite icypole as she wouldn't take water, it was 10:30.
THEN as she wouldn't let a cold cloth near her we jumped in a cool shower together for 5min, got out and this time watching the wot wots on DVD til she slowly started to drift... telly og.. AWAKE
So wot wots back on til she was asleep (well after 11:30), tossed and turned all night, grizzling in her sleep every 30min or so...
DP comes home drunk, takes up ALL the room and so does DD so my big fat PG belly had to fit on the edge of the bed without touching DD and making her hotter.

This morn temp is back down to 36 but it did that yesterday aswell so keeping an eye on her and off to get panadol once DP is alive, also dragging his sorry butt out to look at furniture for Bubs and give DD some new scenery to look at.

Is it just the needles and why is the nurofen wearing off so quick?
Hope that was it, she's been miserable and i feel so sorry for her, she ate a slice of toast but didn't try her on more as she hasnt eaten properly in 2 days and don't want to make her sick, will give her a couple of small meals today.. is that best?

When a baby has their needles it gives their immune system a bit of a whack, so any other bugs that are around are more likely to affect them at that time. She probably has just got a wee bug on top of the raised temp from the needles, and it sounds like you are doing everything right.

As I said before though if you are worried about her becoming dehydrated or not being able to get her temp down take her to the emergency room. They would rather see her than not.
