Your Experience pls - kitten (not cat) and little ones

Hi, we are thinking of getting a kitten not 100% sure yet, we want one at some stage but not sure if this is the right time. We will most likely get a ragdoll (yes I know about the hair lol) I have heard many stories that they are great with kids.

Georgia will be close to 1 at xmas when we would get the kitten, she loves my mums cat and harasses the poor thing, he keeps coming back for more harassment but does get grumpy with her sometimes and has scratched her.

I would like to hear your experiences with introducing a new kitten to a young family, also I am pregnant due in July. I also know not to change kitty litter when pregnant.

Will the kitten hate georgia or just grow up being used to kids?

I have 2 cats... got one just before Za was born, and got the other when Kane was about 1.

Lilly and Za are very close. She used to come and cry at me when Za needed me!! Za could play with her anytime, and she would sleep on his feet if I layed him on the lounge when he was a baby.

Angel came and LOVED Kane. At 1, Kane just loved her too!! We taught him how to hold her, and he would nurse her for hours. He can do anything at all with her. He lays down on her and they watch tele together. If he is playing somewhere she will go find him to curl up next too. He calls her his cat!! He has been accidently rough, and she has never scratched or bitten. She grew up with the kids around her, and Kane annoying her all the time, so for her its just the norm!!

They both steer clear of Harmony... She is facinated by them, but she's a little rough yet!!
