    Fever for 5 days!

My DD2 is 10, almost 11 months. She has had a fever for the past 5 days. She has been to the dr twice who can see nothing wrong with her. She has been on antibiotics for 2 days but no change. She has nothing else wrong with her except she is not eating so well. Has this happened to anyone else? What could be the problem? A fever from a virus doesn't last this long normally.

Does she have a rash at all? My kids have just had slap cheek/hand foot & mouth. They had the rash, which I think must be hand foot & mouth, but when DD1 was little she had slap cheek & only had fevers. Her cheeks were red & she was off & there wasn't much else to it.
They are both strains of parvo virus.

How high are the temps? If they are over 39 I'd be doing my best to keep them lower. Keep a close eye on fluid intake & wet nappies as well. Its so easy for them to dehydrate.

Hope she starts feeling better soon xx

Teething?? Could teething cause such a persistent fever? Sorry I am not sure. Just wanted to offer some hugs Hope she is feeling much better soon. How worrying.
Perhaps get a 2nd opinion from another GP?

She has eczema so she usually has a rash but nothing out of the ordinary. She is BF normally and has alot of wet nappies but just won't eat solid food. She is moaning more than usual but I can still get her to smile and she sleeps ok. The fever has gone up to 39 but mostly stays around 38.5. I keep her medicated with panadol or nurofen every 6 hours or the fever returns. This can't be good either.

I had DS in hospital at 9 months just with fevers actually. Completely forgot He had the fevers for a few days & one day was lethargic & just slept all day & thats when I got worried & took him in. It was just a virus of some sort, so antibiotics would've done nothing. He was in for 2 nights on a drip, then home. Probably sick for a week all up I guess.

My DS who is 8 months had this last week. My GF whose little oneis also 8 months, had is 3 weeks ago & has just been to the dr today with it again, nothing wrong with them apart from a high temp.

The dr has no idea what is going on.

Keep taking your DD back if the temps keep happening. Obviously they are fighting something off & they all seem to be winning.

But it's so horrible, especially in this weather.

Hope she is feeling better soon -xx-
