I just want to know if some of the symptoms I experience are related to endo....I get very painful vaginal pain (pain where a tampon would sit) & frequency to urinate. The symptoms are actually very similar to a urinary tract infection which I get froom time to time (however I go to the GP and get tested and there is no infection). Also after taking a course of anti-biotics the symptoms dont clear. I also suffer regularly from thrush also.
I just want to know if this is normal and if anyone thinks thrush & UTI's are related to having endo.
I was also recently diagnosed with Endo (about 4 months ago) and i had painful urination during periods only. This pain got gradually worse over a 6 month period. After a few urine tests, ultrasounds and cystoscopies they found i had an endo adhesion which had grown through into my bladder!
Not saying this is what yours is, but my symptoms were frequent urination and painful urination.
I have since had the growth removed and all is going well (i hope). Op was in Sep this year so have only had 1 proper pain free cycle since - fingers crossed.
Hi KJS07... I don't know if this helps but I have had twice previously the frequent and burning urination feeling and also not tested positive for a UTI but found out from a chiropractor that my back was out and iritating a nerve in my spine that caused the same symptoms as a UTI.. Put the back in and the problems went away... Good luck and I hope you get some answers...
i too had alot of discomfort and pain when using tampons with my endo. after a routine pap smear it was found that i had endo adhesions on the outside of my cervix and this was causing aggravation when using tampons or DTD.
in the end i made the decision to not use tampons and have found that the endo on the cervix is either gone or no longer aggravated...
also, sometimes a chamomile 'flush' (cold chamomile tea in a syringe) the day after AF has stopped can do wonders for girls with endo on or around the cervix, it soothes and just ensures that there is no tissue left over ITMS (sorry if TMI ).
I had alot of this with my period before I had a lap and endo removed. I had endo growing on the ligaments and around the bladder which is why I had so much pain. So yes it is quite possible.
So helpful. Nice to know that this is normal. I was at my gyno last week and asked the same question. She said my endo was just behind my cervix and endo usually irritates everything around it, so that most likely explains my pain. Getting a lap to remove my endo in Jan, so hopefully everything improves after that.
