Ours is up a little bit, I think about $50. Which is surprising as we live where Ash Wednesday went through here.
Just wondering if many people have had their home and contents insurance go up significantly since the fires in Vic?
We received our renewal a few weeks ago and it is not $1380 whereas last year we paid $820!I went online and got a few more quotes, all of which were around the $800 mark, so DH rang our current insurer and they told him they have increased their charges due to the "weather predictions for the summer". The CS guy he spoke to was shocked that our other quotes were so much less.
Needless to say, we are changing insurers but I can't believe they have increased it by so much in one hit. I wonder how many people just receive the renewal and pay it without checking last year's.

Our company does this every year.
And every year I go back to their website and put in my details like I am a new customer and I come back wiht a much lower quote and then ring them and tell them that I will only be paying the lower quote and they agree every time. DH gets a massive discount because he has been with them forever but it annoys me so much that they just assume because we have been with them forever that they can make massive charge increases.
There is no way that your quote should go up 50% because of a weather prediction.
oh wow, I can't believe how much it went up for you!
Each year, ours goes up, and each year we ring them and say we're not paying that, what's your best price, and they knock so much $$$ down without hesitation.
