Exclamation Very embarrassing problem, possible tmi, shooting pains...

    ...in my anus and vagina??

I've had this problem for a while now, I'd say four to six years, but never knew what to do.

It's a terrible shooting/stabbing pain in my vagina and anus, like I'm being stabbed with knives It is extremely painful, and when it happens I have to stop what I'm doing and try to breathe through them. If I am sitting I need to stand up as sitting is too painful. They cause me to literally yelp when they come on, and as I already said, it feels like knives stabbing me. They last anywhere from one second to 30, and can happen again shortly after the first one. I am unsure whether or not there is a pattern to this, but I would say it would happen once every one or two months.

Not sure if it might be related, but I thought I would throw this in as well. Again, may be tmi and is very embarrassing Sometimes when I have a bowel movement, I get...I think 'sick' would be the only way I could describe it, I'm very puzzled by it. So I will feel the sudden urge to have a bowel movement, usually after a short period of constipation. I will be on the loo, and my whole body will radiate with pain, especially in my legs/vagina/anus. I will break out in a sweat, feel dizzy and like I'm going to pass out. The pain feels unbearable, and all I can do is pant and breathe through the pain and sick feeling, like I will throw up. Eventually it will subside, but it happens a few times, maybe once or twice, the entire time I am on the toilet. This happens, I don't know, maybe once every four or five months?

Does anyone know what this could be, or heard of something like this before? It's been happening since I was 12 or 13, maybe sooner, so it can't be sex related, and I've never had any sti's anyway. I know I should have seen a doctor about it, it's just very distressing and embarrassing for me, and I feel like I can't really describe it IRL, iykwim. Thanks in advance if you got through all of that

Might be hips/pelvis/spine out of alignment. Check out a chiropractor maybe.

Not quite sure hun but I think you should ask a medical professional. It may be something that can be easily fixed.

Could be related to irritable bowel, I can get some bad stabbing pains at times when my bowels are not working at the their best. Get it checked out though, there is nothing embarrassing when you are talking to a Dr.

Lulu, interesting you mention a chiropractor, I used to see one a long ti,es ago for some spine issues, never occurred to me that it might be related. Thanks ladies. I agree, I'll be seeing my doctor on tuesday I think. Can't believe I've let it go on this long, but now I'm TTC I don't really want anymore probs to deal with, especially when I get pg

...... i was going to suggest the same as Astrid, ... it sounds like irritable bowel syndrome to me too (so sorry for the TMI question but Does your poo have like a mucus with it that you see when you wipe ??, that would be one sign of IBS) !!

YES, do get it checked out at the GP ... those stabbing pains are far much worse than any embarrassment !! xoxox

PZ, I could have posted that myself. I actually suffer from this too and like you havnt ever had it checked out. I just assume it is a muscle spasm type thing.

i was informed years back that the cause of my vargis veins was due to sexual frustration peeking but not reaching my fullness and this has caused the veins that cause pains.
