    5am wakings.....help!!!

5:00am is a truely vile time to start the day. It wasn't always like this- I remember fondly when Peter used to sleep until 7am everyday. Then it was 6:30. Then 6:15....and slowly its crept back until the stunning 5am this morning.

I am sure he is not actually ready to get up that early because he is ratty and tired. But we can't get him back to sleep because he seems to think the day has started. Perhaps because its starting to get light.

Is there any, any, any way to get him to sleep longer? I can't keep him up any later at night, he is exhausted by the time he goes to bed. And even when I do try that, it doesn't make a difference to his waking him (he is just more tired!).

    Sooooo tired!!!!

So is he waking because of the light coming in? If so, do you have black out curtains? I've heard they work.

Not sure what your sleeping situation is...

My DS sleeps in a cot in his own room, and often wakes at that time for a feed, and then has bit of trouble getting back to sleep. One way I've found to help him get back to sleep is just to bring him into bed with us. He usually has a talk and play for a bit, then drifts off, usually until 7am or later.

I feel your pain!! My DS has done this for months and months. Putting him to bed later makes no difference for us either! We've tried blacking out the windows too and bringing him into our bed but he won't go back to sleep!! Sorry I can't offer any suggestions but if you do find something that works, please let me know!! Good luck!
