    surrogacy - o/s

    Hi

Given the long enduring process we went through with failed IVF for 8 + years, we decided to look at inter country adoption 3 years ago, only to find out 12 mths ago (whilst we were in India), that the already long wait, was to be extended another 2 years. To put it mildly, the emotional trauma associated with year after year is extreme, hence, why we decided to review what we thought, was our final option...surrogacy in India. We now have our beautiful baby boy, something which is indescribable...a minor miracle. We love him so much, and we are great parents because of the terrible years prior trying to conceive.

For anyone who is just at the end of their tether, this is something to consider; understanding, it is not for all, as some have their own views on surrogacy which are unfavourable.

WOW congratulations to you all What a wonderful gift someone has given you. I don't know much about the process, except I'm sure it wasn't easy for anyone. Enjoy your wonderful little miracle (which I'm sure you are ).

I think surrogacy is now legal in South Australia. I don't have a problem with it as long as there is a contract that ensures that the person carrying the child has no legal rights to the child at all.

Thank you for this post! My DH and i have been undergoing IVF for nearly 7 years with 5 stim cycles and 10 FET and with a total of 25 embies tfed over tis time. we have lost 5 micricals and indeed are at the end of this rd for us, we have just starte to discuss surrogacy and have had a friend offer, but sometimes you feel that it will never happen and i am not someone to be pushing onto someone else. so the other option is that we go os. i find it all very daughing and would love to be able to speak with you about your experiance.

we hope to use our own embies and from our last colection we collected 22 eggs, 15 ferterlized and all 15 grew to blastie, they just dont want to stick with me!

im in Australia alone with my DH, my family are all OS and it makes it feel like i am doing it solo sometimes. My mum is trying to help as much as possible but with different time lines and her just not understanding everything that we go through, however i am very open with her, she just hurts seeing me in so much physical and emotional pain.

I have asked the mods for a surrogacy thread but have not heard a reply, this is to educate myself before we make any desisions.

I would love to be able to give you my email if you are willing to share

thanks you again for posting your story and congratulations

Michelle thanks for your great positive story.

Loula, Did you ever hear a reply regarding a surrogacy thread? DH and I have also been through years of IVF and are now considering undertaking surrogacy in the US but it would be great to speak to others who have gone through/are going through the same process!

Hi annie, no i didnt get any reply

we started to look at surros os, but have had two offers from friends here (one i know and one i am yet to meet still)

we did an epu (our 5th) so we could start the journey (we tfed to us 2) and have just got back from a scan where we have seen a HB, our first in 7 years and 15 cycles of IVF. not getting too excited yet and will take everyday as it comes, but it is a start for us. either way this is our last cycle and if it is not ment to be then we will continue with our surro adventure.

i wish you all the very best and would love to hear how everthing goes for you and your DH, USA is very expensive and not within our budget so we were looking at India Europe or Thailand.

    best wishes
