    Xavier

I really like this name, but after having a name where I have to had to correct people of the spelling my whole life, was wondering what peoples thoughts were on this one? do you think I'd be correcting people all the time?

I personally LOVE this name... it was the name we had picked if our next was a boy. (like seriously we picked it not long after DS was born lol)

But, i wont be using it as a friend of mine had a son recently and used it..... i was guttered but i will always think highly of it. LOVE IT!

As for correcting people, not a chance. Although it is a different name, i have never met anyone who didnt know how to spell it!!!!

If you love it, go for it!!! Its a strong, manly name!

I love it... but my son is Zavier, pronounced with a Z not an Ex sound.

When I say Zavier, most people spell it right, and if you pronounce it Exavier, then folks will spell it Xavier.... If you pronuonce it the way you spell it, you'll be fine.....

The correct pronunciation is Zayvier, and it's one of my fave names. Only problem is some people say X - avier (gawd knows why) and it drives my GF nuts.

Xavier is how I would spell it, but I do have a friend who recently named her son Zavier. With the Z it looks more like the sound IYKWIM, but I personally like it spelled with an X.

Lulu, I personally hate the "X" being pronounced, which is why I went with the "Z".
I know of 2 other Xaviers who are pronouinced with the X.
I haven't met anyone who pronounces the Z that uses the X spelling.

I hate the X bit too, and I can see why you changed it!

Do some people intend on having the X - avier said that way?

At the end of the day all you need to do is correct them so they get it right. If the name wasn't taken in my fam I would have loved it.

It's gorgeous! my cousin named her boy Xander (pronounced Zander) so very similar.. we all know how to spell it, I reakon it's nice and different with an X.

I like it, and it is the correct spelling, so don't worry about it. People mis-spell my DD's name all the time and her name is Sarah!! Even after I have told them that it is Sarah not Sara or even Sera has been used once or twice. I think changing the spelling of a name is more confusing. But anyhoo, go for it, it is a great name!!

If you like it then go for it. I too have a name that always gets gets spelled wrong due to several possible spellings but you get over it. I don't even bother to correct people anymore unless they ask. I doesn't annoy me much if people get it wrong. Although sometimes for serial offenders I'll spell their name wrong on purpose just because I can

I love Xavier. It's a contender if we have a boy.

I think the more common pronounciation is Zav-yer as opposed to Ex-Zav-yer.

We too were looking at Xavier if we had a boy, pronounced with the Z sound, but a cousin used it about 3months ago for their baby. They spelt it Zavier as they thought it was pronounced X-avier
I don't think you will have too many problems with people spelling it, if anything it might be the pronunciation
