Alright so, my BF likes Violet Amity for a girl. I love it, but my friends little sisters name is Violet so idk if i can call bubba that? I first heard the name Violet when i was little i read it in a book & had kept it in mind since.
But i also like the name Scarlet Caroline, Caroline after a dear friend that passed away a few years ago & you know the song by Neil Diamond, my grandmother used to play it all the time, so ever since then i've had that in mind too.
We're almost positive on Aiden Maxwell for a boy, Maxwell after my Grandfather & Nath insisted on Aiden.
Opinions would be most appreciated. (:

i love aiden but know too many to name a son of mine that! It has so many spelling variations too Ayden, Aden as you spelt it Aiden.
i LOVE scarlet too its not common and its not some weird made up name iykwim maybe you could ask your friend her opinion on calling bubs Violet
Yes i think i will have too talk to my friends mum about it.
I spoke to Nath about being unsure for Violet as i know a Violet but 'i can call my daughter whatever i want, i shouldn't have to ask someone else.' was all i got from him. So i'm not getting anywhere with him. Bloody stubborn man! Haha. But yes i like them both so i really don't know what to call bubba!

To be honest i would run it by your friend first just purely cause of my own heartbreaking experience when i named my only child's middle name after my much loved sister's first name she told me in a rage on the phone when my DD was 9mths old that she wanted my DP & i to go and change it at Deed Poll ... i can't explain the emotional hell we have lived with now knowing this after we had already named our DD and the pain we have to experience every time we have to write our DD's full name on paperwork, etc... and DD is now 3.5 and the pain still lingers and sadly always will and needless to say my relationship with my sister which i thought before was as close as you could get two sister's has been destroyed
... i think it would be much easier on you if you ran the idea by your friend and then you yourself can feel sure & comfortable about it then ' not knowing ' ... i mean it might not be a problem at all for your friend but it would break my heart to hear anyone go through what we have.
I have to say i absolutely LOVE both your names choices, they are just GORGEOUS
I LOVE Scarlet thats what i want to call my bubba if its a girl and no its not a common name at all but is quite old fashioned which is why i love it. And it goes so well with Caroline. But if your heart is set on Violet i do reccomend talking to your friend.
How close are you to your friend? Are you likely to stay friends? I only ask because I had the same situation. My number 1 pick for a girls name is my friend's little sister's name. I loved it as soon as I heard it. 12 years on, it's still my number 1 pick but I haven't seen my friend for 8 years. Talk to your friend and see what she thinks. She might feel honoured, especially if you make the effort to ask her opinion.

But i'm thinking we'll go with Violet Amity, Nath really wants to go with that one.
