Smile What gets you motivated to do the housework :)

As the title says, what motivates YOU to do your housework?

Music really motivates me to do my housework, i chuck a CD on and i turn the stereo all the way up and i start my cleaning. Todays music is Fives greatest hits i got ALL my cleaning done while singing and bopping to my childhood fave band but dont tell DP he cant STAND them and has told me that no way is my boy band music playing on HIS stereo

Knowing that it is only 1hr before DH gets home from work Nah, seriously it's movtivation enough to know that if I get stuck in and get it all done first thing that I have the rest of the day to do whatever the heck I please.

I agree with Trillian and Kate LMAO! Knowing its 30 minutes til Shel gets home, AND I have studyt to do, makes housework pretty appealing!

(not that I am doing much at the moment, Shel being SAHM for the past 2 weeks has made the house spotless, I'm in awe of her capabilities )

    Routine.

Every morning I get up, have breaky and then spend some time cleaning. That way the house is always in a fairly good condition and I can start the day with a clean house.

Do it like that for long enough and the routine becomes the motivation.

I dunno, I thought the same thing LOL! But seriously, she manages to do so much! I barely have to do anything! I come home and it's spotless, and she even prepares dinner during the day so all she has to do is cook it! I'm embarrassed at how slack I was, not that I'm complaining about her doing it all and leaving me nothing!

Yeah I'm another hour before Andrew gets in LOL. I did housework this morning while he was out and you can't tell where i have been now, so why bother.

    People coming over!!!
My kids have been known to say "Who's coming over?" if they see me cleaning and I have to enlighten them to the fact that sometimes mummy just cleans LOL

when i get sick of walking on the crunchy bits all over the floor! Lol.

we've just moved house so at the moment still trying to unpack the last few things, then the house will get a good clean...I just find it hard trying to fit it in around DD, I dont want to vacuum while she is asleep because I don't want to wake her up, and if she did wake up I can't hear her over the noise (i did it once before and when i turned the vacuum off she was screaming in her cot ). I usually put her in her rocker and have her a little in front of me while i do it so can keep an eye on her but lately she doesnt like being in there for too long.

My mil coming over! Speaking of which, she's due in 2 1/2 hours for dinner and I haven't even started cleaning or tidying, let alone preparing dinner! Damn addictive BB!

I will be repeating a lot of what has been said:
    People visiting
    DH about to come home
Sick of the floor feeling yucky
Getting angry - not sure why that gets me moving. Probably just channelling the energy
There is something worse that needs doing.

Yep, I have a mad rush when I know someone's coming over, not just when DH's coming home. When I get rid of the kids for a while and I can actually concerntrate on the cleaning without having to stop a million times. Music helps too!

The motivation for me is that once its done i feel better in myself
so i always try to get it down early in the morning so i feel better and its a good start to the day if that makes sense..having a clean place in where i am just makes me feel better..untill its messed up again lol
