Well I know the general reasons why babies looooove their booby!!! But I was just feeding DD and she was so excited and enjoying it so much, it was so cute. And I thought to myself 'I wonder what she's thinking, I wonder why she'd say she loves it so much'.
So for those who have fed/ are feeding older babies/toddlers/children. What have they told you about why they love breastfeeding??

My eldest would say that boobie was yummy, also that one tasted like chocolate and the other like biccies![]()
I always think about this too. I wonder how she isn't bored of it because she has it all the time haha but nope, she still can't get enough of it.
I just asked my son (he's 3.5) and he said "foz I just do"![]()
DS always thinks its like a treat. Like having icecream every time he clicks his fingers, lol.
Its pretty sweet tasting as far as I know, but my only taste was when it came back up...![]()
I haven't actually asked DS but he will often say yum when he can see them or if I say 'boob' so I guess it's like the best tasting food ever![]()
What a great thread - can't wait to hear the answers! I have never asked miss A why she loves boobie so much but she still pats them and says my boobies even after being weaned for nearly 6mths. If she is upset or tired the hand goes straight for the topDS asked me today why Ari still wants booby and all I could think of was for most of her life they were the thing that made everything better

my three year old is speech delayed, just started coming out with more words, sentences even, in last fortnight (very exciting for me to hear her thoughts).
she says "mummy booby make me appy". Her behaviour and attitude (big smiles as soon as she latches on) about booby convinced me long ago:
- it must taste really nice
- it's her FAVE
- it makes everything better when she hurts herself (no need for panadol)
- it can be used (by me) to stop a tantrum - works like magic
- it's the first thing she wants when i collect her from childcare
i feel so fortunate we have been able to have this bf-ing r=ship, i don't take it for granted, when it's so hard for many mums and bubs.
They get sooo excited don't they? It's so cute when DD see's my boobies especially when I'm changing in front of her and they are staring her in the face she gets all excited and frantic and has to have a drink then!!!ooooh so cute.... I love breastfeeding!!
I think it's not only the fact that it tastes sweet for them but it's also sooo warm, must be so nice to drink, especially when they are wanting that extra comfort at the same time
Boobie fixes everything!
I think they must be snuggly... DS finishes feeding and throws his arm around the boob, rubs his face against it and sighs in bliss, it's the cutest thing I have ever seen... *gushes*
DD tells me that booby milk tastes yummy. She can't quite express that she loves the snuggles that come along with bfing, but the closing eyes and relaxing back off to sleep in the morning speak for themselves on that one!
What a gorgeous thread. Both of my kids also get excited and apparantely I'm a bit slow getting the boobie out because they both have (DS still does) grabs and rips at my bras squeeling and smiling until boobie is out. I love the cheeky grins I get mid feed from DS with milk dribbing out the side of his mouth and then giggles and go back for more. Oh and how they hold on tight just incase you take it off them. It's just so damn cute!!
This is a lovely, lovely thread. I will remember it for the next time someone says women only breastfeed toddlers for selfish reasons!
Can't wait until B can tell me in words what she thinks... in the meantime though, the way she opens her mouth and rolls toward the boob whenever I sit in the feeding chair, and the way she puts both hands round my boob to hug it while feeding, and the way she feeds almost to sleep and then relatches as if she just wants to make sure she can have more as soon as she wakes up, and the way she comes off and gives me an enormous smile, all say "baby loves boobie"![]()
Awww, this is a beautiful thread.
I can't wait till DS can tell me why he loves booby - but for now I just now he loves it. I have to be really careful about saying 'booby' these days, cause if I do and he hears me he wants a feed there and then!
