    Bumbo seats

    Hi,

Has anyone used aids like bumbo seats or anything else similar to help their child to sit. My daughter is always wanting to be in an upright position and i feel this will be easier rather then hold her 24/7.

    thanks

We have a bumbo seat that we used with DD1 and we will use it with DD2. I like it just because it provides them with a little seat to sit on instead of always being on the floor.. LOL

I had one for my two but they didn't use it very much.

Was a bit of a fizzer for us. We borrowed one (thanks again Marlene!) but to be honest he looked awkward and uncomfortable in it and usually only lasted a minute or two before he'd start protesting so we gave it back. A friend has since told me that they aren't great for chubby bubbies, and my DS definitely is, so maybe there's something in that? I know I had to practically wedge his thunder thighs in

DD has one and she loved it until recently (she has started trying to crawl and tries to throw herself out of the bumbo) but we got a good 4 or 5 months use out of it

I had one and thought it was great. I could put DS on the bench while i was cutting up veggies for dinner! He had the thunder thighs too, but did alright. It was hard to dislodge them to get him out though, but it was fine. You don't really need to use them for that long coz it doesn't take long for them to be able to sit themselves.

We've got one but I haven't used it for a few weeks. He used to be okay in it and would last 5 minutes or so, but I found the position it put him in would make him vomit quite a bit (he's a happy chucker anyway). If we didn't have that problem I'm sure I'd use it a lot more, but now that he is that bit bigger and almost sitting unaided I find it better to sit him on the floor with pillows around him for when he looses his balance.

We bought one for DS2 and he loved it. He would sit in it and be happy all the time. We then passed it on to my sister for my neice and she too loved it. It has come back again now and Anelise is using it. She loves sitting up in it and always has a big smile on her face when she is in it. None of my babies have been chubbas so can't comment on that, but I can say my children have always looked comfortable in it. DS2 is 2yrs old and he still likes to sit in it now and again, and he thinks it makes an awesome helmet lol.

Both my DD's have used it to death! DD1 was skinny and used hers until she was 2. DD2 is a chubby bub but she still uses it. It is great to take out as a portable highchair. We also use it at the beach as it just wedges into the sand.

Even if your bub doesn't like it much or use it for very long the resale value on eBay is pretty good.

We have one for DS. He wouldn't stay in it very long at first but he has always wanted to be moving not sitting. As Nai said, great portable highchair. That's what I use it for now. If we are out somewhere, it is almost impossible to hold him and feed him as he just wants to explore. Who wants to eat when you can explore! lol! We got the tray attachment, otherwise DS would stay in it for 2 seconds then he's off.

I bought one for DD but she only got about 2 months use out of it. We got the tray attachment also. She continually tries to flip herself out of it now. She sits up unassisted anyway, so I guess there's not much point.
My 2 year old son loves it though, and he fits in it better than DD!

I was thinking the same thing.
Never had one for DD1, and DD2 is over hers already, so glad I got mine second hand.

DD1 sits in it thinks it great! As does the cat
