Is there to much out there to make people feel guilty about being on either side of the scale and not the perfect body image that magazines imply they should be? or is there more to be done to make us perfect?
Hmm, interesting thoughts. Some people definitely seem to be happy in their own skin, whether they are 'fat' or not, so clearly to some they are born with a certain mindset, or perhaps it's the upbringing and influences around them as they grown.
To me, I think health is the key thing. Some people are born thin, some are born thick. Some are thinner than they should be (that is, if they were thicker they'd be healthier), and some people are thicker than they should be (that is, being thinner would mean they were healthier).
So....I think both. For some people it might be fine to be thick, while for others it might be a sign that they're unhealthy. And the same with thinness, some people are just skinny minnies, while others would ideally have a bit more meat if they took care of themselves.
I agree Nelle - I do think though that generally speaking when you are carrying more weight than is healthy for your height it leaves you more open to diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
I am carrying more weight since Immy's birth than I should be & I doan't feel comfortable.
Yu know it's funny. I look at some celebs and think that they look like they should be (as you say) thicker. I wonder how much they put themselves through to be so thin and if they struggle in private to maintain that weight and if they are really heathy.
