Have alook on the Centrelink website, they have payment rates and income limits. I think on Newstart you can earn about $780 a fortnight before the payments are nil. Not sure if thats only your partners income, or if your parenting payment comes into that too.

    from http://www.centrelink.gov.au/interne...nts/chartd.htm
As a Newstart Allowance customer you can earn up to $62 per fortnight before tax before your payment is affected.

Income between $62 and $250 reduces your fortnightly payment by 50 cents in the dollar. Income above $250 reduces your payment by 60 cents in the dollar.

Partner income which exceeds the cut-out point also reduces your payment by 60 cents in the dollar.

There's also an estimator you can use if you can't work it out from there: Centrelink / Family Assistance / Child Support / Child Care Estimator

    yeah what Leash said!

for parenting payment, the point for your partners income to start impacting your payment is around 700 for the fornight, and ceases any payment at all at around 1400. for newstart, if either of you earn either indivudually or combined around the 780 mark you get nothing
