Veneers vs Bonding of front teeth

OK so ive been on the path to get my "smile" perfect.

the only part of my teeth that isnt straight is one middle top tooth. its grown crooked from scar tissure , so i have one snaggletooth thats making my very self concious ,my bottom teet are ever so slightly out of line but you cant notice .

over the last few months ive had 3 wizzies out and then a clean and the zoom whitening , next weeking im getting a filling and 4 other teeth sealed .

THEN im on to the big decision , Veneers or bonding ?

Veneers are $7000 for 6 teeth and bonding is about $300 per tooth .

the veneers are porcelian and will not discoulor and stay "hollywood" for about 10yrs +\
the bonding is like the stuff they use to do the white fillings with and can shape it to look like a tooth but it doenst last as long and im not sure if the discoulor or not , i had my teeth whitened as if i wanted to whiten them after bonding , im told the bonding wont whiten so i had it done before so all my teeth can be the same coulor .

so do you think i got the veneers or the bonding . the dental nurse told me veneers are better and its best to do the top 6 . and the bonding wont last as long and can chip .

I would like to know if anyone on BB has had either . and if you were happy or not .

i just want a striaght tooth , i want to smile and not feel stupid , im sick of being jealous of ppls straight teeth

I have found a really great dentist in brissie that im happy with what they charge and the service , they can do all the stuff in office , im just left with the choice now .

if you can afford the veneers then so that over the bonding!
the veneers look much better for much much longer, they will last for more than 10 yrs if you look after them!! you get a look that bonding just cant achieve!!
make sure if you get them you continue 6 monthly exam and cleans, this will ensure they last!!

    Thumbs up

Lea ... i have porcelain veneers on my top 4 teeth and have had them now for 14years, so yeh they can last longer if you look after them, for example i wouldn't bite into an apple with my front teeth but more my front side teeth IYKWIM

I had nothing major with my teeth it was just that i wanted my teeth to look more close set in and at the time i was doing big girl as they called it that days (size 14-16) modelling ... so i wanted it there also as an investment work wise.

My last dental checkup was only a few months ago and my new dentist couldn't get over how great they still look.

Only thing is now after all these years my teeth to the side of the veneers are a slightly different shade which can be fixed with teeth whitening (which i have yet to do, as it's expensive to whitenen teeth at the dentist she recommended i just buy a whitening kit from the chemist and just dab the side front teeth myself).

I was having 6mths checkup every 6mths (my choice) in the early years but my dentist suggested i didn't need to so therefore started having a yearly checkup.

Porcelain veneers are only meant to last about 10years so if they last longer it's a BONUS !!!

Back when i had my four front teeth down it cost me $1600 all up ($400 per tooth) but that was 14years ago. Also i remember my dentist back then had a financial plan were you could pay 4 instalments (no interest charged).

I would most certainly go for and invest$$ in the porcelain veneers
