It is a cured meat, as Phoenix says, it is like prosciutto.
Sliced thin and then torn up in an omelette with tomato, red onion, capsicum, black pepper and some vintage cheddar grated on top. Yummy!!!!!
Or slice it thin, tear it up and add to a garden salad, toss and then add a home-made dressing.

When i read the post title I thought it said Placenta. I thought it was weird that sopdet was saying to slice it up and put it in salad.....I'm so silly sometimes.
Yes, you can eat it as it is, it's yummo.

OMG Salsa where did you get that from? I'm so jealous!
Pancetta is cured pork belly, whereas prosciutto is cured ham.
Pancetta is awesome cubed on pizza or in carbonara, wrap it around asparagus, or figs w/goats cheese... in soooo many things!
