WARNING! For those selling their car/bike online
My DH who doesnt know much about paypal was talking to a guy who wanted to buy is bike via paypal.
So he goes and gives him my username.
Anyway, i questioned my husband saying why would someone pay so much more for a bike when they live in melbourne and we in Syd and he hasnt inspected the bike etc
Told him to do a search on bikesales to see if there are any bikes in melbourne, there were a few.
Of course him being a stubborn *insert rude words here* still thought i was being over protective so he asks his friend.
It is confirmed that DH NEARLY got scammed.
THis is what happens.
The guy pretends he is interested in your bike or car and sends you an email and says stuff like its a gift or he cannot come inspect it but will have some courier to come pick up the bike
You give him your details and he sends you 2 fake emails (always check the details to see if the reply email is masked!)
then you click on the link or sends funds apparently to the Courier company and BAM they got you.
Always make sure you do not click on any links via your email and go to paypal instead.
Theres more information if you search google for "paypal scam car sales"
