When did you notice BH's starting

I didn't ever notice getting BH with my 1st pg, and I'm really curious to know what they're like, so hoping that this time round I'll get some. I still think it's a bit early yet, as I've only just ticked over into 3rd trimester, but I'm interested to know when other people first started to notice them - so I can keep a lookout IYKWIM

I got them in my first pregnancy, but I only noticed them right at the end when I got that lightbulb moment "Aahh, this must be a BH". They really weren't painful at all, in fact I just thought it was the baby moving and stretching my belly out tight!!

I had my first noticeable one today - right on 27 weeks!! It felt really tight and i got a bit crampy too. I kind of freaked and went to the bathroom as I wasn't sure what the heck was going on.

Had another one this afternoon and am reassured to know that it's all good.

Just felt a bit tight and crampy for a few minutes but didn't last long and was only one.

First pregnancy I got them about 25 weeks, but this time I was feeling them at 20 weeks, it sounds ridiculus but I recognized the tightening feeling and have been getting them ever since. More so on days when I don't drink enough water or have been house cleaning a little more than normal.

It doesn't sound ridiculous - i think I was getting them that early too this time around! My belly kept going taught and achey for a few minutes and would then relax - but even with ths being pg2, it took me until I was around 28 weeks to get the lightbulb moment and realise that I'd been getting BH for weeks!!

Around 20 weeks for me as well, back then they were mainly tightenings now they can get really tight and a bit uncomfy at times, they last anything up to 2mins.
With Poppy whne i went for my 20 week US the sonographer pointed out that I was having them during the scan you could see the uterus contracting down onto her and then she would kick and push against it.ouch!! theres lots going in there!!!

DD1 - nothing, just some crampy pains the night before.
    DS1 - about 38 - 39 weeks
    DS2 - about 34 weeks
    DD2 - around 22 weeks

Hard to tell the difference sometimes between BH & movements, especially when bub is bigger & stronger

never got them with first pregnancy, get them ALL THE TIME with this one.... got them somewhere in second trimester.... they just feel like very mild contractions... the other day i had one that was not so mild, and it went for about 5 minutes - i was freaking out thinking 'oh my god don't tell me i am going to have 5 minute long contractions' - as i thought i might have been in labour... they have annoyed me to no end as i am constantly thinking 'okay is this the start of labour'... sometimes i get them for a few hours, then they die down, it has made me so preoccupied with labour.... it was much better with the first pregnancy, where my first contraction was a contraction, not a practice contraction.

I was waiting & waiting for them but didn't start getting them until 37 weeks.

Kate - I remember the difference between movements & BH was that when the baby moved, it was a definite jab or knock from the inside. When I had a BH it was a tightening that went across the entire belly all at once, BH also built up. Hope that made sense - you tend to forget the uncomfortable things!!

Mine started weeks ago, probably around 24 weeks???? I get this weird tightening sensation and sure enough when I put my hand on the belly, it's rock hard. Then about 10 to 20 seconds later, the stomach is normal again. Sometimes I get 5 or more BH a day, but spread over the day. Once I freaked out as I thought I had more than 4 in an hour, and they say if that's the case to ring the doctor/midwife in case it's pre term labour.
