I did D&E on 10/22/09 because the baby was diagnosed with turner syndrome and cystic hygroma and D&C on 10/23/09 because of hemorrhage after the D&E procedure. I got my first periods after that. But it was very light compared to my previous period. It only has two days of minimal bleeding and then prolonged spotting(7-8 days). I am very worried about the asherman syndrome. The doctor says I need to wait for the body to recover, Now my second period come and it is still very light and I have the instinct that it will not improve and there must be something wrong to the uterus after these precedures. There are a lot of examples on the web. What should I do ?
Ruxia - oh sweetie - what a tough time you're having. I am so sorry. The internet can be useful but it can also be frightening. I'd recommend that you go and see your Dr and use the info on the internet to ask your Dr questions about what you're concerned about and if during the consult you're not happy with the answers you are getting, ask for a recommendation for a Dr, perhaps even one with a particular speciality for a second opinion. I can't really help you with my experiences, I bleed/spotted for weeks. God luck - and if you can you post about how things are going for you?
hey there hunny firstly im sorry for ur loss and hope ur feeling better and i hope i can reassure u after my experience with D&C and also ERPC....
i had a MMC at 8 weeks with my last pregnancy, i had no bleeding but it was found at a 10-12 weeks dating scan that baby had stopped growing i was sent for a D&C immediately.
after this op i was sent home and was told i would bleed mildly for a few days and periods should return in 6-8 weeks, well over the first 6 weeks i did nothing but bleed and lost clots size of my hand, i had a huge bleed and was taken bk into hospital to find i had retained products and was then sent for an emergency ERPC as i was losing alot of blood, HOWEVER this op worked fab they done a brilliant job and i spotted for about 3 days and period returned 4 weeks later bang on time BUT was very very light compared to my "usual" AF, i asked my doc about this and she assured me there was nothing wrong its just that the D&C and ERPC really scrape and clean you out inside so u will find ur next 3-4 AF will be lighter than usual and its very normal and what should happen as long as ur not losing tissue or matter then id say ur af is normal and will get heavier again over the months, its nearly a year ago i had my last ERPC and periods are now bk to the normal medium heavy state they were before it all happened so pls dont panic huns what ur saying here is defo the norm, if u feel its not then do see a doc as they will reassure u about it xxxx
I am with Dory, don't self-diagnose over the net, it is far too scary. Chances are it is not Ashermans but rather your body getting back to normal. You have undergone a major hormonal change, even if you were only pg for a short while, and every body is different. HTH.
charliemania - oh sweetie - I just read your signature - I am so sorry about al your losses, but really thinking about you and your lil bean lost in January 2010. How you doing?
