How do I make my lips red?

So my new years resolution is to put more effort into myself (hoping it will help myself esteem) I am sick of been a dag, not shaving or waxing my legs, looking frumpy, letting the grey hairs show instead of covering them, I haven't cut my hair or seen a hairdresser for well over a year etc and I won't start on my wardrobe or my weight which is also going to have a facelift.
Well what I want to know is what product can I use to give me that gorgeous naturally looking red lips (not like I am wearing lipstick just the pretty brighter coloured lips) I have big lips but they are very pink with freckles around the outside which makes it look like I have lip liner on sort of with no lipstick lol. Well does anyone have any tips for me to make my lips look red without the makeup lipstick appearance?
So here's to looking and feeling gorgeous soon!

I use napoleon perdis cheek tint in barely blushing, it's a gel and gives your lips a red stain, you can build it up to be darker if you like and it's beautiful!

You could use a lip gloss. It moisturisers your lips, and gives them a tad of colour.

You could try a lip stain - most of the cosmetics brands that are available in department stores make them. They're usually a liquid/gel that you can dab on, build the colour, and then either leave it as is or pop some shiny gloss over the top for a bit of extra *pow*. The stains are called that for a reason, they do last all day, and as a fellow full-lipped gal, I find they give just the right amount of impact and emphasis on your lovely mouth, without making your lips look like they're collagen enhanced, kwim? I only wear lippie for formal occasions where a big slick of matte red is called for, because I look like a trout... same goes for most coloured glosses, I just stick to Lip Smackers with a bit of a stain underneath (the one I'm using atm iiissss... Maybelline or Covergirl? I think?) and I have a nice little flush of colour but not tooo much Good luck!

Thank you for the wonderful advice, it is something I have been thinking about too, for a while. I seem to eat my lipstick off and it is a bit too drastic for in the office sometimes. This idea is fantastic and I will have to try it out.

Thank you for all your replies. I use pawpaw religiously on my lips as they dry and irritate me but I want them to look that gorgeous but natural looking red IYKWIM. Thanks again for your replies. Ill see how I go. I brought some red lip gloss and red lip stick hopeing to get the colour I want but its either too shiny, doesn't last or looks like I am wearing red lips stick not the appearance I am after.
    Thanks again ladies

Benefit have a cheek and lip stain. Can't remember what it's called but I can look it up.

It's probably a bit exxy but Benefit is lush and I highly recommend their stuff cos I use it Well, when I actually have the time to put it on lol.

Tinted lipbalm is good too, gives you colour but without the lipstick feel
