    chicken pox

My older children were playing in the playground today with some friends and I just discovered that the youngest aged 1 has chicken pox. They didn't play with her but with her older siblings. I am not sure if the older ones have had it before. My older children had it about 5 years ago but my question is if they have had direct contact with the CP now could they pass it to my 3 month old. I called nurse on call and they were unsure.

    Hi kylie,
My understanding (and I could be wrong) is there is limited chance of passing it on once the spots have come out unless there is direct contact with the fluid from the spots.
So from what I understand with the chicken pox is correct them your baby shouldn't be at risk.

    Hope you stay Pox free

The spots aren't contagious if they've dried up. If there is still fluid on them, they're still contagious spots. I found out the hard way when my DS1 was 11 months old

I hope your bubba is fine. FWIW, my DD1 & DS2 got the first of their chicken pock spots when we went to see my sister & my newborn niece. We were there for 4 days all up and the kids spots came out on the 2nd last day. My niece never came down with a spot at all thankfully.
