    quick help needed, replacing an ingredient in recipe...

    Im just about to make a brownie for a friend tonight, i thought i had everything i needed to make it and i dont, and i cant get to the shops!!

    I need 100g dark choc and 100g milk choc to melt to make brownie mix but i only have Dark choc. I f i just use 200 g of that ... which i have...what else should i do i keep the taste the same? more sugar? some milk? nothing? dont want it to be too rich or bitter??

    any clues??

    I think it will still taste yummy even without the milk chocolate, you can always make me some to try for you....

    i wouldnt add anything else - might taste slightly richer but its only 100g....

    I would just use all dark choc, and definitely don't adjust the recipe in any other way! I would use all dark anyway, as I'm not a fan of milk chocolate dark makes the best brownies

    As I prefer dark chocolate I only use dark chocolate (70%) in my cakes and brownies. But if you think it might be too bitter you could always add a little caster sugar when you melt the chocolate, as it will melt in with the chocolate it shouldn't alter the texture of the cake (increasing the amount of sugar in the mix itself probably would though).

    I love dark choc brownies heres my recipe:
    Chocolate Brownies

    Serves 15
    Ingredients
    200g Dark Cooking Chocolate, chopped
    125g butter
    1 cup brown sugar
    2 teaspoons vanilla essence
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    1 cup self-raising flour
    1 cup chopped pecans or walnut



    They are so yummy!

    YUM...made it with just dark and didnt change a thing, better than normal infact! thanks ladies!
