Sometimes I feel like I'm losing it

    Hi All,
Gosh, i dont know i feel like i am losing it with DD's battle with eczema. DD has had eczema since 2 months. It was severe then with broken skin, seeping pores. 2 specialists and 2 visits to the hospital gave nothing but cortizone/steroid creams.

The procedure to put on her creams were time consuming (all but worth it) 4 different types every 1.5hrs.

Nothing worked, I didnt want to continue to use cortizone creams either.

Fastforward to today and after a few visit to the chinese herbalist, she is a different person! the eczema on her face has nearly gone, it comes back one in a while but at least you can see her pretty face and past her scaly skin.

Her hands and legs never healed. Every night, it is the same thing, she scratches herself to sleep, scratches until it bleeds. She wakes up at night telling me to scratch her to sleep.

She co-sleeps with me so i can scratch her to sleep. She wakes up with blood on her singlet and bleeding hands.

She wont let DH scratch her to sleep, it has to be me.

I am tired! I work full time and I am tired. Some nights i get so upset i yell at her "go to sleep!" I feel guilty, its not her fault she has eczema! I wish that it was on me instead, I envy kids with perfect skin.

People always have their opinions, why havent u tried putting gloves on her? Of course i have, why dont u moisturise often? of course I have!

My poor baby is soo irritable, seriously no one deserves this...

Sorry for the long post, im just tired and i know i will never have a good night sleep until DD grows out of her eczema.

    Thank you for listening.

oh M2OSB. Your poor, poor bubba. I really hope she does grow out of it. The Chinese herbalist sounds fantastic.

i have no advice or words of wisdom, just lots of cyber hugs for you and sweet little kisses for your DD.

Oh your poor baby! I have a couple of patches on my arms that refuse to heal & they are incredibly itchy. Your poor baby needing her itches scratches as comfort, my heart is breaking for her. You're doing the very best you can for her M, you're a lovely mummy & you will get through it.

Thank you ladies for the support. Just needed to get it out!

The only issue with the chinese herbalist is that the doctors at Westmead told me not to use it as there are no ingredients list "his secret recipe apparently" so i use that sparingly too.

I have tried so many natural creams that sometimes i think im doing her more harm than good.

    Thank you for your support
