    Question Total fire ban cooking

Can anyone give me some inspiration for what is good for dinner on really hot days when we would normally have a BBQ? All I can think of is buying a charcoal chicken to have with salad or buying fish and chips.....

BTW DH won't eat rice paper rolls, sushi etc or any of that yummy stuff - he wants "meat", and no cooking inside....

Mmmmmm, chicken and salad sounds like the way to go! Or cold meats and salad. Or a cold chicken and noodle dish (I make a yummy one with BBQ chicken, cooled two minute noodles, red onion, cucumbers, tinned corn, and soy sauce).

You can have a BBQ on total fire ban days as long as it is a proper built BBQ (not in a pit etc) and not near bushland... you can look it up on CFA website

I was under the impression (heard on the radio) that you could not use any bbq that was portable ie. not bricked in to the deck, plumbed to the gas mains etc. We have the stock standard four burner that can be moved (wheels on one side) that you buy at bbq galore, bunnings etc. and have to refill the gas bottle.

Not that it really matters today after the heavy rain yesterday, but I'd just like to know for future reference. Off to have a peek at the CFA website now.

Ok, you can but with a few restriction like water on hand and 3m clearance around.

    Good to know.
